Default 9/11, inauguration, MJ death, Chilean miners..

....which one had you glued to the tv the most?

And which made you more emotional? These are the only four I can think of that got a full 24-48 hr coverage at the moment.

9/11 as I saw it live and the death of Michael Jackson, the the death of Princess Diana was a biggie too. But I get most emotional over family tragedies.

9/11 most definitely, I remember hearing it on the radio in the car as it was happening and thinking it was some sort of joke when they called out that a second plane had crashed into the world trade centre. It was unbelievable and shocking.

9/11. no question. I never used to watch the news, i never cared about world events. I was glued to the Tv for 48 hours, and i've watched the nightly news ever since.

The Chilean miners never had me glued to the Tv at all. The only interesting part of the whole story was hearing how they were all arguing about what order they'd come up in, because they all wanted a book deal and wanted to seem to be the most selfless.

At the time these events happened, it would have to be the Chilean miners.

I was only 10 when 9/11 happened therefore, obviously I knew it was a catastrophic event, but I wasn't as glued to the tv, news and internet then as I am now, and what has happened with the miners.

i really don't get the Chilean miners thing. It's not an important world event in any way. It's very suprising to me that anyone could compare it to a real news event like 9/11.

What impact does the Chilean Miners event have on anyone??? absolutely none.

It reminds me of that stupid story from the 90's of the little girl trapped down a well.

To compare it to 9/11 is ridiculous. 9/11 changed the entire world. How does the Chilean miners story change the world in any way? It doesn't.

I think it was more unusual than world changing which is way it held so much interest in people.

I think it was the fact it was good news for a change, something that could have been tragic was turned into something joyous,I think that is why people have warmed to this story.

Who has compared it to 9/11?

The reason it's such big news is because throughout their period down there, there was always hope of them coming out alive and safe, and that happened.

What with all the news of the Pakistan floods and other depressing **** going on, I think people warmed to the story as it was a nice change seeing something hopeful and people coming together.

9/11 without a doubt. It's actually scary to watch even almost a decade later.

I didn't really watch much of Obama's inauguration, MJ's death came as a shock, but didn't exactly put me in a state of hysterical grief like it did most people. I only caught the Chilean miners on the news when they pulled one of them out. That's about it really.

Although I watched 9/11 happening in a shop window, I didn't experience the aftermath as I went on holiday for two weeks the following day.. I think missing the 24 hour media coverage made it more difficult for me to take in what had happened. I've watched the documentaries made since then and still somehow cannot belive what happened that day.

9/11 aside, I was glued to the news coverage of the floods following hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. It was disbelief and horror that kept me watching (I know that sounds daft) I'll never forget watching a couple of old dears finally being rescued and the sight of bloated, dead bodies floating about.. it was gruesome!

The tsunami was not more horrendous than 9/11. The tsunami was cause by nature and would have happened no matter what.

9/11 was caused by other HUMANS targeting innocent civilians. That makes 9/11 evil. The tsunami was not evil, it was just nature. Nature cannot be good or evil.

It's really annoying when people act like 9/11 was some sort of natural disaster or accident or something. It wasn't. It was an act of war.

Oh, 9/11 without question. I was in a pub at the time and they switched over after the first plane hit and I watched the second one happening live. Madness.
