A comment I made in another thread made me go and find the video to see if Alisha was as brutal as I remember. Simon starts at 3.10 with Sharon arguing soon after. What she says is quite telling, most notably from 3.55 onwards. Bearing in mind its just as X Factor was turning into a soap opera, did that moment get her sacked, well because Sharon would have opened her gob and spilled everything if she was in a later series

I know the official line was that she quit but Cheryl was announced as a replacement almost as soon as it was confirmed she was going (Sharon even suggested Cheryl to replace her) and there have been rumours over the years she was pushed rather than walked. And there was backlash when Louis got "sacked" the pervious year. With X Factor being so well orchestrated you do wonder if you can believe what they say

Alisha was a good artist - mis-managed by Sharon. She should have been given the support and song choices that Rebecca's given.

Sharon will always be my favourite X-Factor judge, most of the time i've disagreed with Cowell and he's meant to say what we all think. Louis has always been awesome plus Dannii.

It seems to me that Simon has too much power. He may own the whole shooting match, but if he was an honourable man he would leave the discression on sackings to a third party, not to be judged on whether he has a spat with someone.

The press says he is pissed off with Louis and Dani, and they are in danger. Simon should realise it makes better tv if the other judges are prepared to stand up to him.

I gather Cheryl is his favourite and he has big plans for her in America as a judge.

I think the reason Sharon left was because she hated Dannii Minogue for whatever reason (young? good looking?) and because she lost one of her girls in the first week by virtue of the curse of going on first; she lost the second one due to media scandal and was left with Alisha who, although she tried her best, was never going to go far in the competition. Sharon was left with no acts by the mid-way point; that was enough to push her over the edge and quit. She was just having a strop.

Simon looks to have a drawn a similarly rubbish hand this year. He is lucky he has two left, Belle Amie need to improve quickly and One Direction are middling at best.

With Simon though, he at least has One Direction to coast through on teenage girl votes. They're one of the worst acts in terms of vocal abilities, but they'll easily make it to the top 6 at least, I'd say they're a definite for the final at this stage. Belle Amie were always going to be early elimination fodder. I think Simon wants them to go so he can focus entirely on One Direction. It was the same in series 5 when he had the boys; he was quite happy to lose Scott and Austin so he could focus on Eoghan.
