As I posted last weekend........arista shopping tips are legendary!

A friend of mine has something very similar (it's not JML but a hugely expensive one that looks just the bleeding same!).

When he bought it, I thought "what a pratt, that's gonna be so naff in about 24 months time".

But I actually really like it - a pity that heating via electric wall-heaters is so expensive otherwise they might be a good idea!

But Heat settings can make sure you do not get a big bill.

And Gas well Over the Top on prices.

A Pifco One is cheaper
but not so sure it has the same settings.

Not sure TBH

I just remember I had a cottage with Off-Peak Electric and the leccy bills were crippling during the winter. Then moved to a bigger house with gas central heating and couldn't believe the amount I saved each quarter on utilities.

The point was as well as the overnight storage heaters, we had electric wall heaters, and when you switched them on, it was just frightening how fast the flywheel in the leccy meter was spinning.

Maybe not so much of an issue/difference in 2010.

When you Sleep
Heating should not be on all the time.

Then you Sleep better.

With off-peak electric, the storage heaters are storing overnight obviously. In the mornings the cottage would be like a bleeding sauna and you had to walk about naked. Then go to work so the cottage would be warm with nobody there. Then get home and by 9pm the place was bluddy freezing so onto the wall heaters until 10 when the off-peak kicked-in again

Such a stupid and inappropriate system for us but the village did not have gas anyway.!

PS - the mate and his wife that I mentioned only bought their's as redecorating the lounge. Don't think they'll ever have it switched on as a heater as they have gas heating - they wanted the effect of a fireplace and something as a focus - their LCD heater is just like another tele to snuggle around for the psycological effect of fire.

Mine is real gas fireplace but it is quite old fashioned.

The JML's ones look very modern but they could fit to any traditional deco rooms as well.
