It has been said that the world will fail to exist in 2012. What would be your last message to society as a citizen when the day of the end arrives?

Just because you saw the movie in the cinema doesn't mean it's a lie, although it likely is, it doesn't rule out the possibility that the Mayans are right.
I hate these chavs who have done no research or didn't know about the Doomsday Prediction until November 2009, Because there reason for not believing it is: 'it's just a movie plot lulz dnt be so ***** stupid'

The world will not end in Dec 2012. It is just the date when the Mayan's Calender runs out. The Mayan's did not want or predict the world would 'end'.

Nah

I'm not saying it WILL happen, I'm saying WHAT IF it happened.
I think I would say something like "Haters, thanks for hating me because at the end of the day, I fucked you way more than you ever touched me so you can kiss my fucking bad ass. See you in hell" and to my family and friends "I love you too"

I'm guessing you just clicked a few Google links or had a scroll through Wikipedia. It's hillarious how you are slagging others off for not doing the research. 2012 has as much chance of being the end of the world as 2011 does. Last edited by Stu; 03-01-2011 at 09:31 PM. |

The Long Count Calendar used by the Maya was simply a system to date any specific event from one starting point, in this case the mythological founding of their civilisation in 3114 BC/BCE. However this date wasnt considered by them to be a creation date as they believed at least four long counts had occured between the creation of the world/universe and their civilisation starting. They also have predictions for future events both physical astrological predictions such as comet observation periods planetary and cosmic alignments etc and also prophetic type predictions dated as being in the next long count calendar. The belief of great catastrophes etc was actually an Aztec belief. They like the Maya also used two shorter calendars one of 365 days one of 260, the ends of both coinciding every 52 years, if certain religious practices were not carried out near the approach of the calendar run outs they expected certain catastrophes to occur. Back to OP's original question though, I dont think I would actually care to pass a message to anyone at the "end of days", what good would it do? Besides I would probably be too wankered to be coherent. Last edited by Shasown; 03-01-2011 at 09:42 PM. |

Actually Stu, I spent 3 years, before the movie came out researching the 2012 Doomsday predictions. I know there isn't just one prediction of course, I was referring to the Mayan one because the movie is based on that and I was trying to make a point. I didn't say 2012 was going to be the end of the world, Once again, just like last night you completely put words into my mouth in an attempt to give you something to insult. I'll admit I did believe the theory at first, of course. However, the more I read about 2012 and the more I watched Documentaries about it, the more I learned that it's just a way for Authors and Film Makers to make money of it by scaring people.

Can I just clear something up because I realise what I've said came across wrong.
When I said 'That doesn't rule out the possibility the Mayans are right' I was referring to the fact their calender ending is considered the end of the world. Not that they actually slapped 'the world will end today' on the 21st of December on their calender. I know the calender ending was just a new cycle beginning. Just that the way people think the calender ending is the end of the world, I was stating that there's no point in completely saying that isn't true.

the world will end well after 2012 as,as usual its made up **** like when people made up that 1989 & 2000 were going to be the end of the world, and guess what? earth is still here now.
but if by the 1% chance that earth does get destroyed then i wouldnt know what to say.

See this is what I hate, People using the 2000 and the 80's Predictions as a way to automatically prove this one wrong.
I'm not a believer of 2012 but can I please just say, There is more reason and theories behind 2012 being the end of the world, than any other little made up Doomsday that some bellend pulled out from the top of his head. And one day, the world will end. We may know it, we may not know. Chances are we will as it isn't going to end by some ******ing Lord coming down and giving a speech before taking us to heaven. It will probably be by Science, infact it WILL be to do with Science and Space. We will feel the earth getting closer to the sun or we'll see a meteor. So we'll know for sure when the world is going to end, maybe not the day or time but NASA will be able to tell the year the earth will collide with the sun or a asteroid will hit etc Anyways, So if there was all these theories and the world were to end in say 2038 because of Space. People would just be like 'oh no lulz because they said the world would end in 2012 and 2000 and it didn't see :L' The world has to end at some point, just because doomsday predictions failed time and time again in the past, doesn't mean one day the world won't end. Personally I don't think it'll happen in our life time but who knows!
