Question What Year Do You Want Grand Theft Auto V To Be Set In?

Have been discussing this with some Xbox Live Members earlier.

Where do you want GTA V to be set?

Both Liberty City games were set in the year's they came out.
All other games have been set in different years.

1961 Grand Theft Auto London
1969 Grand Theft Auto 2
1984 Grand Theft Auto Vice City Stories
1986 Grand Theft Auto Vice City
1992 Grand Theft Auto San Andreas
1997 Grand Theft Auto
1998 Grand Theft Auto Liberty City Stories
2000 Grand Theft Auto Advanced
2001 Grand Theft Auto III
2007 Grand Theft Auto Chinatown Wars
2008 Grand Theft Auto IV
2009 Grand Theft Auto The Ballad Of Gay Tony
2013 Grand Theft Auto 2

Quite interesting.

So where would you like GTA 5 to be set?
I don't mean location.

Which year?

Past as in way back to the 60s and 70s?
Back to the 80's and 90's like VC and SA?
Stay in the present time around The Noughties like IV?
Or jump a few years into the future?

something of the 1920s might be nice since that was the real height of mafia operation. Would also like the 60s explored...the soundtrack would be amazing, there could be drugged-up hippies and budding corrupt politicians.

But I'm usually happy with everything

Prefer it when it is in the present, although I think it'd be epic if they did one set far out in the future, could flop though.

I would like it set pre WWII but LA Noir has got that covered.

So next choice would be a futuristic GTA

I am thinking GTA: Blade Runner style

Yeah it'd look like Halo or something with robots and bollocks like that.

GTA II stretched out to 2013 [which was the 'far' future when it was released] but that wasn't a 3D Game so it didn't really matter.

They could even just go to like 2016 or something, keep it realistic but have abit of fun with it and changing some things abit, but not going all robotic and OTT.

They could set it anywhere as long as it's fun, GTA4 was pretty miserable in comparision to the previous games. Saints Row>

Yeah The Monitor. Annoying thing. It was generally a robot free game though. I just love Paddy's lack of knowledge on anything outside the wonderful world of Rockstar Presents A Rockstar Games Production In Association With Rockstar Presents ROCKSTAR GAMES.
