Yesterday I was sitting in the sixth form block (at my school) with friends, chatting as you do, and then all of a sudden two of my friends say oh my god look, and point behind me. So i turned around to see this small fire in the cafe we have in the room. Loads of people crowd round and are all like "ohhhhhhhh" and I realize that its a piece of toast that has actually caught fire (pmsl). I then see one of the kitchen staff pour water onto the toaster (seriously what the hell?) and the fire goes out.
I thought that my school was okay and everything, but pouring water onto electrics, oh dear god. -reports- |

Wow, I can see that they are well trained to deal with electrical fires.

Hands off my Brick!

I did that once when I was kid, sometimes the bread gets stuck so it doesn't pop up properly and the element stays hot till eventually the bread goes on fire

The smoke detector doesnt remove harmful toxins from the smoke you know. If the problem was dealt with and the risk of fire has been removed why have the detector set the alarm off and the whole school have to be evacuated and the fire brigade called out? |
