Default Second publication suggests Endemol plan to go back to basics

Desmond's broadsheet puppet, the Daily Express:

http://www.dailyexpress.co.uk/posts/view/239810

"Fame-hungry freaks" are no longer wanted, apparently.

This was also reported in the very reliable Broadcast magazine, can't see Desmond selling many copies of the Daily Star with a classic BB cast.

BAD NEWS THE SHOW NEEDS TO MOVE ON AND BE MORE UP TODAY WITH EDITING (FASTER PAST) HE JUST MAKES IT ALL SEEM BORING WITH HIS POINTLESS COMMENTS AND UNNECESSARY STATING THE TIMES!

the show needs move on no go back! really bad decision by channel 5 if they want to make it a bigger and better show! Macus Bentley is just desperate for the money as he doesn't do any other voice over's for any other shows, commercials etc. So what does that tell you! know one wants his monotone ridiculous accent!

For all those re-watching BB3 in the bb3 section i think its safe to say that the housemates there were very normal and the series was brilliant and the most succesfull of them all averaging 5.8 million viewers throughout the series and 10 million on the final.

I would rather normal people. This is why the public turned away from the show coz they do love to build a person up and see them become succesfull after the house but noone wants to give people fame and fortune for being selfish fame hungry wannabes

I know.

People dont realise that the public are bored of the same thing now and i personally wanna take it back to how it was. Im bored of watching a freakshow i wanna watch people i can relate to with real stories and backgrounds instead of sh!T that was made up just to get them into the house.

Big Brother has become predictable and thats why the viewers went away.

Remember just coz its going back to basics doesnt mean that its gonna be boring we can still have twists and some of the best arguments happened in earlier series ie: Jade and the verucca, amma and stuart, darren and nichola, kate/johnny and jade.

I want it to come back as a celebration aswell.

None of this pantomime crap of booing every housemate that goes in and out.

Twisted people are not always fame hungry. I hope they have not forgotten that. I'm all for leaving out the casting agency bollocks but some unhinged, loud people still need to go in there. People like Victor and Science weren't fame hungry. They were just massive, massive tits.

I considered BB3 to be the first one that started having freaks, so the public said we want normal people and then we got BB4...

But yeah I dunno how I feel about this... I hope to God they have a back up plan if it turns out like BB4. It'll be amazing if everything just works.

This article has nothing to do with Marcus Bentley and Marcus is one of the continuity announcers for C4 so is actually employed all year round regardless of BB.

Hurrah! great news in my opinion. we can still have funny witty quick argumentative back stabbers etc etc without needing wannabe fame hunters. the more i hear the more i'm looking forward to this series

Expect a BB2/BB3 type series if Desmond doesn't overrule them and insist on a decent supply of freaks, BB5 was not what I'd call basic, old days BB at all. BB5 while great was the start of the freak show, from there the housemates got more extreme and more ridiculous year on year and led to it's first demise.

My worry is that they mean a BB1 style back to basics, I enjoyed it at the time, but in hindsight BB1 was actually rather dull, tasks were tedious and lasted too long and not much happened for weeks at a time till Nasty Nick got found out.

Most viewers today just won't watch that, we've come to expect more. And if there's not much alcohol as in recent years, most people won't watch another BB3, that series best moments were fuelled by alcohol, without it, it wouldn't have been half the hit it was. If they don't have alcohol they will need a certain degree of freakery.

i dont like it how they stereotype a bb viewer, because everyone watches it for different reasons. some for support some for laughter some to complain about it.

I really enjoyed BB11 because the HMs were quite normal and remember producers said they picked the HMs because they genuinely wanted to go in for the experience. I think Rachael wanted it as a bit of a stepping stone and people like Shabby and Sam were the sort of characters found in later BBs but otherwise it was a normal group in it for the experience. The problem was BB not supplying enough alcohol and then intervening whenever someone so much as raises their voice. That's what watered it down

back to basis has always worked for TRW. The biggest twist TRW has ever seen is the producers changing the number of housemates from 7 to 8 lol.

First of all - no one* (not know one)
Second of all - most want him back.
And the last thing I can be bothered to mention as your just a waste of time - He does a lot of voice overs for channel 4.

You need the mix of Freaks and Normal People. I don't mind fame hungry *****s.. but only if they have a brain. Not someone who panders around with a swim suit and acts stupid all the time!

Most people who go into BB.. freak or normal. Will mostly want to win for the money. If they don't then they will do whatever they can with their recognisable status. They will try and get in nuts, get magazine deals.. whatever they want to make money. This willbe natural for 90% of people.

I just want more people with a brain, who are interesting and are manipulative. << There are plenty of attractive people with these qualities.

A glamour model should only go in if like.. they have a law degree or something!

Josie Gibson. A girl classed as "normal" I would say is a fame hungry ***** even after winning BB!! Like I said whether you are normal or a freak.. the majority of them are still fame hungry *****s. Or will just want to join the media circus for a few months until they break down that they need "privacy" or because work has ran out which is generally the case. Because some of them won't be able to go back to their normal jobs after BB.
