He had to stay relevant somehow, this might get him another year in F1.

I think he's a contract for next year but I wouldnt give him a drive. Schumacher and Rosberg who have a worse car are only 10 points behind him in the championship....if they beat him he'll look stupid.

Yeah the Crash in 2009 really ruined his career. He's never been the same since then

I think Massa is just getting overshadowed by Alonso now.

Just been told by someone quite in the know that Lewis is seriously gonna leave McLaren. I was told to 'expect a mutual decision statement before India'.

Can't say it's shocking really, he peaked with his World Title Year. Get Massa out of Ferrari, Lewis in there, Kimi in McLaren and Massa in Williams. Simples.

Where does your insider say he is going? Red Bull? I still think he is better than Button, just not getting as good results at the moment.

He didn't, but Red Bull is confirmed to have Mark and Seb back so it wont be there. Apparently he just wants out of McLaren. I dunno how true this is, I'll talk to him again tomorrow so I'll find out more of what he knows then....

Also this is just me but I dont think Kimi will come back, he'll see how much Michael has struggled and he wont do it....I expect him to launch a team in a few years though

Button's very much a man of good fortune and timing. His first win was when Alsonso and Schumacher took each other out.

His world title win was with a huge advantage from BRAWN not him (as you can see by his mid season decline) Since then he's only won changeable race conditioned races.... he's good but he's definitely no Lewis.....

They said in the commentary that Button has had the most overtakes this year, but that is partly due to qualifying low down on the grid and having to make recovery drives.

Lewis' qualifying pace is nearly always better than Jenson, as is Vettel over Webber and Alonso over Massa.

Not sure where Lewis could go to meet his expectations if Red Bull have confirmed contracts. Can't see him and Alonso wanting to be team-mates again, which would be the other option.

Thats what I thought too, but he really doesn't look comfortable there at all anymore.

I thought it was interesting that Raikkonen was rumored to be returning next season. He would be a good replacement IMO.

I can't see it happening. There is no way Lewis is going to play second fiddle to Alonso. I think Lewis will be there for at least 1 more season.

Didn't you just prove your argument wrong?

Then why is he above Lewis?

I think Jenson and Lewis are pretty much of the same ability. Yes his world championship was down to Brawn but you can't say he didn't drive the socks off that car once the rest of the pack caught up. Once Jenson finds the right balance in a car i don't think there is anyone who could out drive him apart from Vettle.

No he pretty much fell apart mid season and barely won the title....he's a good driver, he'll never be a great driver.
