Default This Series Was My Introduction To BBUK...

And honestly-- what better a series could I have been welcomed by? I've since seen all the other series (including the dreadful series 9) and in terms of the selection of housemates, the tasks, and the intoxicating power of Noirin's "Ladygarden" that had all the guys in the house under her spell, and the guest appearances of all the former housemates from seasons past, and it just made for an epic experience. Marcus and his "graveyard shift" and his battles against Lisa, David, and Sree, and the diverse selection of hotties (birds as most of you refer to them as) of Sophie, Karly, Noirin, and that little "Yeah, Yeah" chick, Hira, and everything else.

As a US viewer that had never seen the show before and had only had to suffer through the American version of the show, I was blown away by how epically superior the UK version is in comparison. I've never been able to look at the US version the same. I'm definitely glad the show is coming back on C5, but for me, 2009's run of the show was just fantastic! What do you think?

Was my first series too and have since seen pretty much all but I don't think its that good. Better than some give credit but not the best at all.

I agree. I also loved the 2006 season with Pete, Nikki, and Glyn. Dicky was hilarious as well... I wasn't, however, a fan of Aisleynne at all... just wasn't my cup of tea...

It's far and away my favourite series. Channel 4 didn't promote it, nobody watched it, and the production team had virtually no impact on it. It was made great soley by the awesome housemates creating the entertainment and intricate storylines amongst themselves.

Yeah, it is an underrated series.

Probably Thinking about it, I haven't seen one bad series since I started watching withthe exception of, maybe, BB11(BB5 - BB11).

I found out about it by accident. I was looking for an episode of the US version on one of those now defunct streaming tv sites and happened to catch the opener of the UK version... I was hooked immediately!

I loved the uncensored nature of everything and you're right, the housemates is what made the series... their banter and actions... just an amazing lot of housemates all the way around. I've probably watched it 3 times now from start to finish with all of the BBLB and what not, thanks to YouTube... lol.

I don't think that 11 was horrible... it was actually pretty funny looking back. I loved the moments with Ben in the beginnings, the back and forth between Josie and JJ, and then Sam Pepper coming in and just running a muck... but I do think that considering it was the last series on C4 that C4 themselves kinda dropped the ball... They really could have done so much more considering, but the night the house got flooded was truly epic! And I also can't neglect to mention when Marcus Bentley came into the house... made my day!

I actually forgot about all those moments. It was pretty decent really.

I think the final ruined it for me though. I look back and think it was a really boring final when it had potential to be so good. Why they had the 4-way eviction before I'll never know.

The final did kill it and I think UBB also took away from the last official series as well... For the most part, all of the housemates that entered UBB were anything but "Ultimate." Where was Marcus Akin? Pete Bennett? Dicky?

It wasn't bad for a 'Launch' series it would of been horrible.

BB3 was my first, what a good one to start of with.

You should watch BB9/BB7 man.

Terrible series, it's the only one apart from 4 that I came close to giving up on.

It was yeah, well at least I thought it was.

I only just found out from my Mum that we moved into my house in Summer 2002 - which means it was BB3.

I felt like slapping her, as if everything I ever believed in was a lie.

BB5 was the first series I properly watched though and could remember bits of so you know.

A very underated series that's for sure. Don't think it would have been the same without Noirin, however. She pretty much provided 90% of the speculation within the house and kept everything running brilliantly. Excellent housemate.

I kind of like it when the producers don't need to get involved. The housemates providing everything is what the show should be about.

As much as I love the odd cool twist like the bedsit or whatever, the most successful series run off the selection of housemates alone and no gimmicks.
