What could the marketing and adverting team do to pull more viewers to Big Brother. I like the new format, more BBUSA-eque and that's entertaining so this one is or should be too. I want to to have more viewers, at least a 3million average so it lasts longer on Channel 5 because to me 2million doesn't seem like a lot.

So ideas, how can they make Big Brother more popular?

It might be a pretty small idea, but how about letting the contestants use twitter now and again (but block them from seeing their mentions etc) and just let them be honest... We don't get to see a lot of them in the diary room and it'd be a pretty good way to embrace the social media aspect they so dearly want to focus on this year

Well for one thing it gives people a lot more to talk about, as well as more chance to make up their own mind on HMs.

What they should have done was actually consult the audience before they made changes instead of just foisting something upon people.

Putting in a man who can't speak English.

Take away all the cons and make them into the opposite therefore reinstating Big Brother as a show which reflects the great name. Also don't make it into another average copy of every other reality show on the planet.

Because its been 3 days and I am giving it a chance. However almost nothing I have seen is what I like. Believe me if BB12 is like this I most likely will not be watching. And why because I don't like it does it make my opinion any different from someone who likes it. I didn't sign up for this series and this series is nothing like the BB I loved so to complain about it is fair enough I think. I am just giving my opinion of what I think needs changing, its not just moaning for the sake of moaning. Plus this is a discussion forum for both sides of view not a lick Channel 5 and Endemol's ass forum. I was just giving my opinion on how the series would be improved in my mind which is what the OP asked.

Why dont CH5 just show BBUSA it will be cheaper and fits in with the rest of their schedule of recycled US junk shows.

Unfortunately you can't make people like something. I think they've done their best to try to make it attractive to a younger audience but it seems inevitable that they won't attract the most possible viewers without live feed. I say that as someone not bothered by live feed but I have to concede the point.

The ironic (i think) thing is that usually it starts with high-quality in the UK and Americans make the fast-money and less impressive versions. Now its coming full-circle. The once superior BBUK is now making the cheap imitation of the US imitation.
Well possibly i just did my own head in but yes.. I agree just show BBUSA in the slot and save the expense eheh

For me they have to bring live feed back. I really don't understand the point of having the celebs in there 24/7 if all Ch 5 are going to show is edited highlights.

Controversial things need to happen in the house that get people and the media talking.

Casting is a major, major, major part. The housemates are the show, not the production. It's what the housemates create that draw people in.

Jersey Shore is a show in America that started off with average to crappy ratings. Until something happened. Snooki got punched in the face by a guy. It got everyone talking. More people starting watching the show and saying 'this is good'. And it grew and grew, and went from 1m to nearly 9m viewers.
