Default Is the show starting to lean too much towards entertainment?

I mean picking Johnny ahead of that army bloke and also originally picking Goldie ahead of Samantha and i guess you could also say Frankie over that bloke with the guitar. Not necessarily saying the people that left were that great but imo better singers than the people that stayed in their place in the comp.

Do you enjoy acts like Johnnie? And that Brazilian bloke last year? Or do you prefer an all out singing competition that looks for the best singer at this stage? Although i still like the show, i cant say i enjoy it as much as i use to, the joke acts are supposed to be for the audition stages and the live shows should be for the talent, imo anyway.

It's been going that way for a few years now. I think last year definitely took the piss with the joke acts; Wagner kept going through, in my opinion, to make a point to the producers that people aren't happy with the show anymore. It is meant to be finding a new popstar; not ruining the lives and career opportunities of hopefuls through media scandals, embarrassing gimmicks and piss poor management. I think it stopped being a singing competition with the introduction of Jedward to our screens - prior to that it was always a singing competition, though the elements of a focus on entertainment were creeping in...

I think this is the best one in a couple of years, johnny seems like a joke act, but thats more down to louis, he can actually sing
