Big Brother's amnesia regarding tasks and rewards, plus a general rant!
So we've all been distracted by the latest fiasco involving Jay and Anton after the nominations but this series has seen some real sloppiness by BB, with loose ends and unresolved matters.
Most recently, we had the 'pegs on the face' task, with the promise of a reward for the winner. Nothing has transpired so far. Do they think that we'll forget about it if they leave it long enough or is there some big pay-off waiting further down the line, part of some great cunning BB master plan?
It is hard to suspect that they're just not particularly on the ball and that it's all a bit half-arsed in the BB planning department. The latest half-formed idea is taken up without being thought through properly and the last one dropped.
You also wonder if they're not reading forums like this to find out how they should resolve the Jay/Anton task and also to work out how much they can get away with without risking losing too many viewers/potential voters.
Whatever the case, this week is rather stupid from the show's point of view, as minimising the time people have to vote will massively reduce the amount of money they make, especially if more people are using the cheaper FaceBook option to vote rather than phoning.
Part of the appeal of the programme is that the viewer is meant to have a certain amount of influence in how things proceed and the latest 'twist' could result in the biggest farce since Nikki Graham was allowed back in as a potential winner after people had spent money evicting her. Yes, BB can change the rules at any time but that should only apply to what goes on within the house.
Maybe that's why they're being so careful this time not to open any voting lines but we still end up in a situation where we're watching BB blatantly manipulate the situation beyond what is just good for the show.
