Default Did CBB/BB die on Channel 4?

I really enjoyed Channel 5's version but on Channel 4 it felt bigger! Can Channel 5 restore BB to its former glory???

Ratings wise, Yes

Although I enjoyed BB12 more than BB8/11/10

I also enjoyed CBB9 more than a couple of the Celebrity versions on C4.

I just think most people got bored of the product and you're only left with die-hards now.

Except for BB10 & BB11, I enjoyed it way more on C4, it never failed to disappoint, and it seemed much more original. It's a bit more tacky on C5 tbh, although I still love it.

I think that Channel 4 obviously will always be the main channel of the show. It was bigger on Channel 4 i think. But Channel 5 are doing their best to restore it.

I think Live Feed will be back this year.

CBB8, BB12 and CBB9 all felt 'bigger' than Big Brother 11 and Big Brother 10 did..

Abit like your personality then, because it clearly has came back when more people talk about it now than they did in the past 3 Years - and that the ratings are decent etc

So take your negativity and stop spurting it about everywhere just because you don't like the new series.

I can give my opinion when someone asks for opinions thank you very much.

The show is no longer around. None of the original concepts still stand. The show is only Big Brother by name and therefore it did die. Big Brother on channel 5 is beyond trash.

In your opinion, so stop stating it like a fact because that's utter bollocks.

I feel Channel 4 let the series down and didn't do much to improve it's standing following the Jade/Shilpa incident.

I think Channel 5 are looking at it as a whole new project and so, I not only hope but think it likely over time that it will improve its ratings on Channel 5 considerably.

Even just watching old clip just makes me think, wow this show used to be so big. It looks like it was an expensive show (excluding BB10, the house+studio+exterior were pathetic)

Well it will be around a while, It had did amazing for channel 5.
Plus its helping sell Magazines ect.
I only read my mums mags or sisters to see big brother stuff or real people stories.

Well the only way is up, lets all stay behind the show and hope it improves
I do agree with the excitement going, I'm not sure why, maybe its because im getting older... Not sure.
But i can honestly say that and IAC is the only reason I watch Tv sometimes

Give it 2 more years, and will see what's happened by then.

As far as rebirths go it's doing well. More people I know watched the finale of this year's CBB than did the last 2.

Agreed!...It is no better or worse than it has ever been!...but it is a human trait to look at the past through rose tinted spectacles!
Sure..you get the odd year with superior house-mates,..but even that relies on your personal preferences!
My personal favourite was the Derek, Science and Makosi year, but it is quite understandable that not everyone will agree with me!...Just as in the future , people may look back at the Aaron, Faye and Jay year with great nostalgic affection!...And who's to know what this year's series will bring?

For me...the show itself is just as good as it's ever been!...(and i've seen the lot)...but the spin-off shows are a different kettle of fish altogether !!
...but then, the only one of those that I miss..is Russell Brand's Big Mouth!...the rest have always been dross to me!

Cheers.

It's never gonna feel big again, regardless of the channel it's on.

I mean channel 5 don't help matters with the cheap and tacky production values, and both channels insistence on keeping the trashy side shows (BOTS and BBBM).

But it's been 12 years almost since the show started so all originality is lost, and majority of people have become bored of it. Only the absolute die-hards and the few casual viewers are left.

Nah, BB11 & 12 were similar in terms of HL shows. Obviously one had live feed and the other had a far superior cast but hey.

Either way I'm still new to BB so every series still excites me. Unless it goes bad.

I just want it to be around till I'm old enough to go on the show or at least go to the audition.

it failed when it became a spingboard to zelebrity, hope C5 move away from that to the original format...not that will happen as most see HMs as nothing more than performing seals now judging by CBB9.
