Default ~Beat the Bullies|Show your support!~

Beat the Bullies!

Hello everyone. As we all know, bullying is getting a serious issue on the internet and offline. I for one have experience bullying, but lets not get into it.

I am 100% against bullying, and I am sure you all are, too.
So, I have got a story from the BBC News website of a girl called Natalie who had thoughts of suicide after cyberbullying on Facebook

Description: Within minutes of setting up a profile on Facebook, Natalie Farzenah was targeted by online bullies.
Spoiler:

"I got at least 10 messages, from the same person I think, saying: 'Kill yourself, everybody hates you, you're horrible'.

The abuse escalated and led 15-year-old Natalie to contemplate suicide.

"I was thinking of ways I could do it, where I could do it, who'd miss me if I'm gone."

Natalie set up her Facebook profile after suffering bullying at school.
"I thought maybe if I started this account, people would get to know me and they could finally stop giving me abuse," she said.

"It was just pure hell and I kind of dreaded turning on the computer for a bit.

"I'd have a bad day at school and I'd come home and I'd think: 'Oh my god. If I turn on the computer there's going to be more people telling me to kill myself'."

For Natalie, simply turning off the computer was not an option.

"It's just not a possibility. We are a generation of the internet, we're just so dependent on it for everything.
"Why should I have to come off it just because of some bullies?"

Natalie, of Sheriff Hutton, near York, is now an ambassador for the Beat Bullying charity and mentors other young people facing similar abuse.

The charity supported her while she was being bullied and she credits it with saving her life.

"That's a charity that's kept me alive for so long. If they weren't there I really don't know where I'd be so they've helped me stay alive.

"I just love what I do."

Natalie is one of the 40% of children in the UK who admit they've been bullied online.

To tackle the problem, schools are bringing in internet safety experts to educate children and teachers about cyberbullying and other dangers of using the internet, including grooming.

Tim Pinto, e-safety manager for the Yorkshire and Humber Grid for Learning, said many parents were unaware that photos taken by children on phones or devices with GPS technology can contain tags which reveal their location.

Some smartphone applications can find images taken near a given location - such as one a child has posted of themselves at a park or in their bedroom - and find out exactly where the photograph was taken.

Mr Pinto said: "We've had cases in the past where young people have actually been followed or stalked by others because of the fact that they've used applications like this and not thought of the implications of it."

I am setting up an awareness campaign for anti bullying, but I need your help!
Please spread the word around the forum by putting the following image in your signiture, but also please link it back to this thread:

I do not disagree with bullying 100%. I think it can be bad. But the big deal made by the media helps nothing, makes people feel even more like freaks. It is part character building and everyone has experienced some sort.

The only way you can beat the bullies is having a good old Columbine shootout

The best way to beat bullies I think is to live a great life. Work hard, get a good job, see amazingly fantastic places, do stuff that pleases you... In a few years you can look back at the bullies and see their sad, pathetic, bitter, unfulfilled lives and the fact they're still the same stupid, small people they were when they were bullying you. It makes you feel GREAT!

If all else fails I'm going with InOne's Columbine-style shoot out.

Last night was awful.

I was at work, and this girl (yeah...she was a little weird but so what) was in and sang a few times...well, these 3 girls came in and the girl changed instantly. She looked terrified. Tbh you could tell just from looking at the 3 girls that they were absolute wankers. Well obviously being at work I couldnt really hear what was going on or anything but her face...god it looked like she was expecting them to pull a knife out on her or something. She bought their drinks all night. Then during the lock in they started getting rowdy and were asked to leave (had to be escorted out in the end...and tried to glass the managers husband )

The music was turned off by then and this girl was just sat shaking. I went to talk to her and it turns out those 3 girls bullied her at school, and have continued ever since. She never comes out of the house, but this one night she did as it was the anniversary of her partners death (I think he was in the army...she wasnt making much sense to me tbh) and they used to go to karaokes together, so every year she goes to a karaoke to sing a few songs for him. So she had come out to remember her partner...and got a load of ****e off some adult bullies. I saw red at this point and was going to fight them all(they were still outside kicking and screaming) but gav got hold of me and told me it wasnt my problem etc etc. But it felt like it was, even though I dont know this girl anyway.

It was probably a good thing. If I had got out, chances are I would have taken a beating...3 on one is never good but at that moment I really didnt care, I just saw red. How dare those ***** ruin that girls memorial night just to make themselves feel tough. Anyway, taking a beating is nowt, the blood is gone pretty soon and the bruises last a week or so.

But yeah, I was absolutely sickened tbh. I have never seen adult bullying first hand before until last night, and I sincerely hope I never see it again.

I'm constantly getting sh*t on Facebook from people in school - literally last night, I arrived in to find that some chavs spread a rumour about me around Facebook.

And then I had people mailing me, writing statuses about me, posting sh*t on my wall that my family could see etc and just trying to like really hurt me.
Like it's happened before and people have always told me to delete 'the bullies' - so I tried that last night, and they all re-added me Silly bastards.

But yeah, It's crazy how much Facebook increases it all - all I ever hear is how bullying wasn't as bad back in the day because you could escape it at home, where as nowadays it still carries on on Facebook.
