It's been rumoured that Big Brother would be returning to the George Lucas Stage for the new series. But the new BBC 1 Show The Voice has booked the stage to House it's Live Shows.

the GLS was used for BBLB and the Live Eviction interviews ever since the show moved to Elstree in 2002.

They havnt used GLS since it moved to C5, they've been using the old BBBM workshop for BOTS, they built a production village out of prefabs and the eviction interviews are done directly outside the house

I really hope they change the look of the stage area for the summer. I really don't like the revolving eye turntable at the top of the stairs, the door needs to be changed as well. Come to think of it the windy stairs can go too. Bring back the Straight, black stairs!

I know. But the BBBOTS studio was deconstructed and people were wondering if it was returning to the GLS.

I think we all know where the interviews are And the production village is behind the House.

Agree with all of this - the eye that Brian walks out is tacky and disgusting it's no longer amazing and 'OUT THERE' the way we all thought it was last Summer.

The spiral stair case isn't cool now either, the door is a joke - I don't get that silly little design on it, what's so hard about putting an eye on it?

The only thing that should stay is that revolving eye at the top of the stairs though - because on eviction nights, it's so tense.

Shame, I miss the GLS days Preferred the bigger atmosphere the show had when things were spread out over a large area, as opposed to the crammed-in-a-box feel it has now.

Not that bothered about them staying outside - I reckon the stage area is perfect. The rotating bridge is genius. Could easily last a few years, and there's no reason why it shouldn't - they've clearly splashed quite a bit of cash on it, and it's not designed to be series specific.

Don't care that it's 'boxed in' either - Big Brother's no longer the draw that it once was and the sad reality is the crowds are smaller.

Agree on the staircase though - they should make that straight again because the curved one made for some awful camera shots.

Hell no, the Eye door remains my favourite thing from the set re-design, it is a fantastic alternative to "getting out of the black cars". The noise the eye makes when it opens, the reveal, the panned camera shot, it just works.

I never imagined GLS was all that big. I'm surprised "The Voice" set would fit in, surely they're trying to be The X Factor for the BBC.

The crowds arnt smaller due to lack of demand though. Hundreds of people get turned away every eviction due to it getting packed out.

They need a seperate studio for the interview, When Davina used to walk them up to GLS through the extended crowd it was so much more atmospheric.

Loved the stage last year but we need a change now and i want the housemates to walk through the crowd at ground level not upon a stage.

Hated the door, it looked like it was unfinished and like it allways had smudges from people touching it all the time lol.

I didn't know about that, but even so, producers would rather overestimate the demand and turn people away knowing they've got a full audience than underestimate it and have empty space. It's probably less of a challenge for them to fill the 'boxed in' setup.

The live shows will be on the George Lucas stage at Elstree Studios. As it measures 16,000sq ft, Simon will probably have noted that The Voice expects a capacity crowd for its final on April 28. This is also true of Britain’s Got Talent, though its location at Fountain Road studios in Wembley is only 13,000sq ft.

They got that a bit wrong - the BBC says there will be twelve episodes. If there's one each week it will end 9th June, but that could count two shows a week in the live stage (performance/results), in which case it will end 19th May.

Either way it's still at least a month shorter than The X Factor.

Well that's strange...I'm sure it's always been reported that Fountain Studios is the biggest TV studio available in the UK, and that's why Simon chose it for X Factor and BGT. There's been loads of reports over the years about wanting to move studios, so I'm surprised if this is actually true that he hasn't found out about this.
