Good Morning to all forum members.

Today a whole day of voting is possible with another half day tomorrow. I have noticed some comments as to our policy on capital punishement and becasue we are a 'listening' party for 'you', then I would like to explain that policy again.

We want to see capital punishment restored as the maximum option for murder,as a maximum option it would not always be used and of course there would always still be the option of appeal for anyone convicted.

We do however want to see capital punishment as the sentence for multiple murder, again naturally an appeals process is still an option for the convicted but we do feel really strongly that enough is enough.

The other point I want to stress though, is that everyone is and should be responsible for their actions, there is one way to ensure that capital punishment would never need to be used and that is for people to not 'kill' other people. No one needs to fear this policy unless someone is full of intent to kill another Human being.
Why should, for instance, parents, extended families and society see their children killed for no reason whatsoever by people who should be stronger and know better.

Yes, this is a contentious issue but I have no doubt, if a referendum was held in the Country or even here on tibb, that, should capital punishment be brought back for murder being the question, the answer would be a resounding yes.

That feeling we have taken on board from all the wonderful and really passionate serious debate threads on tibb by a large and good cross section of tibb members.

We, the Jedward/Joey coalition are not going down the road of arrogance and elitism in expecting your votes for us, like the LaBear party.

We are aware that people have feelings, have strong emotions on issues and really have agreed with the policies we outline.I believe most of those members still agree with them and some of them are now not saying so but are gathering in the LaBear party because of the gimmicks and frills. None of which would sort out the issues we outlined as our policies.

So we The Coalition, respectfully ask for your vote, we hope you agree with our issues and once you decide to vote,I hope it is ourselves you feel most able to licence to go with our policies to put very important issues that are wrong, right.

I believe everyone has the right to say what they think as long as no major offence is caused to another person or persons.I thank you for sharing your concerns with all of us involved in this.I read your statement with interest.

Although I have to disagree with maybe how you see this,we are supposed to be in an election mode to win.

Determination to win brings about disagreements that are not long lasting but often help the electoral process.

I regret you are uncomfortable with the process but like others have said above, it is fun and I also would like it to be an annual event.

For instance, there are things organised on tibb, that don't interest me or I find not something I would like to do or be involved with so I don't,I just avoid it all.
However that doesn't give me the right to say that something many others are enjoying and taking part in should be stopped just for me.
That would be a very bad road for tibb to go down in my opinion.

Here's what I think

the coalition, stands for giving in to the mob and trying to please all of the people all of the time. It's support of the death penalty is an example that it will compromise any decent moral standards for votes and will do anything to appear electable to the electorate. To me it's a backward party and sooner or later take us 'into the abyss'. On the plus side, in Joey it has an articulate and sensitive leader who is willing to listen and refine what he believes.

LaBear is even worse as it is a party that does not represent the masses whatsoever is completely out of touch with ordinary people and what is going on for them. It represents a special interest group and their interests only. On the plus side, it has a fun aspect to it and doesn't take itself too seriously.

the Piddles Party seems to be in touch with the day to day ins and outs of life in the T.I.B.B forum so it has the potential to do good things for ordinary members. Plus, it cares for and looks after animals, which for me shows it has a caring and compassionate side. It's the only party that has shown that and that's why I voted for it. On the negative side, it doesn't seem to have any policies for the wider world and so leaves a big question mark over what it really stands for.

This will cost you the election. There is no place in a modern society for the government to have the power to murder it's own citizens. It's right wing, and extreme.

Perhaps you are right and this could lose us this election, however, we thought long and hard as to the issue. I appreciate yours and fruit_cakes observations/input particularly to this issue, however overall, we decided to go with it,for 3 reasons, one is, on here, the majority of forum members do seem to be in favour of the return of capital punishment for 'some' murders, especially child murders, most serious threads seem to lean to that on this issue.

Secondly, the Nation as a whole would if asked, vote heavily for such a policy.

Thirdly, most people I talk to are also in favour of some restoration of capital punishment for some murders.

Personally,I do have reservations,a great deal of criteria would have to be filled for any enaction of this final sentence but if someone kills many people or children, however then knows their lives are secure, I feel they are being given in to.They will be fed, get medical help when needed, they will get exercise, they will communicate with others, they wil watch TV, have access to modern technology, all the things they removed from others existence by taking their lives, all they will lose is their liberty,no other punishment whatsoever.

I stress again, decent, fair minded and right people wouldn't go round killing people and so no one in fact ever need to lose their lives by the re-introduction of capital punishment as an option for sentencing, all they have to do, is 'not' commit murder or multiple murders.

Clearly a self defence killing is a different issue but cold blooded killers never give their victims the right or even chance of self defence especially child killers, how could a child murdered after sexual gratification for the killer ever have a chance to defend themselves.

If eradicating the chance of those murders happening is giving in to mob rule then although I don't see it that way ,I will stand firmly by the policy, despite my own reservations.
Someone has to really act and speak up for those who were given no chance to save their lives at the hands of these people who removed all their rights, any chances and lives too.

Of course in an ideal World, neither JF or myself would want someone sentenced to capital punishment but again I say, no one needs to be, just don't commit murder.

Thank you, for your comments on this policy though. Naturally I can see your side of the argument and fruit_cakes too.
We made our choice on this policy and overall weighing up the issue, I have come down to the view that it is now at this time a right one to explore again.

Certainly kizzy, now back to The Jedward/Joey coalition's policy of the restoration of .................................................. .....

the thick layer of chocolate that used to be on a Mars bar when I was a young child.
It used to be really hard to bite through and a Mars bar lasted me ages, now its top layer is no better than a milky way and I think it's time we got these products back to how they used to be 10 to 15 years ago and not as they are now.
