'Hunger Games' Jennifer Lawrence slammed by PETA for skinning squirrel
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) has spoken out against The Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence for comments she made regarding her killing of an animal.
The actress recently revealed to Rolling Stone that she skinned a live squirrel as part of her role in the 2010 film Winter's Bone, for which she was nominated for an Academy Award.
"I should say it wasn't real, for PETA. But screw PETA," Lawrence explained when asked if the scene in question had been faked.
PETA president Ingrid Newkirk has since responded to Lawrence's comments, telling Gothamist: "She's young and the plight of animals somehow hasn't yet touched her heart. As Henry David Thoreau said, 'The squirrel you kill in jest, dies in earnest'.
"When people kill animals, it is the animals who are 'screwed', not PETA, and one day I hope she will try to make up for any pain she might cause any animal who did nothing but try to eke out a humble existence in nature."
Lawrence's real life best friend Zoe Kravitz recently revealed that the star was naked when she met her for the first time and shaved her legs in the nude.

If they spent less time bitching about people to the press and focus on actual charity work then maybe they'd actually get round to saving some animals. Such a useless charity, they kill more animals in their shelters then they actually save. They're just an attention seeking charity with the mindset of a Plastic that's only undermining their cause by taking attention away from genuine charities that actually do some good.
Godd on her for telling them to **** off, more people should show them up for their bull****.
