Noel Edmonds has published a video explaining how he met the creator of a Facebook page called "Somebody please kill Noel Edmonds".
In the clip, Edmonds revealed how he arranged a meeting with the student who set up the page. "As it transpires, it was very much a student prank in its origins," Edmonds said. "It got out of control, no doubt alcohol was involved, and the student concerned was very apologetic." He continued: "He realised the seriousness of what he had done. He understood why I, my wife, my family were upset. "We both shook hands on his sincere apology and he was grateful that there was no chance that he would get a criminal record." The Deal or No Deal host urged people to "act with more responsibility" on social networks to prevent the state from reducing freedom of expression through such sites, which would be "an absolute disaster for society". Stars who have recently hit out at internet bullies - or 'trolls' - have included X Factor contestant Cher Lloyd, actress Demi Lovato and singer Katherine Jenkins. Digital Spy |
