The 1st Round
Le Pen 19.8% Far right Sarkozy 26.6 Conservative Hollande 27.5 Socialist There is a 2nd round of votes to come in 2 weeks. Hollande was rushed in as Straus Khan was in a mess in NYC. He speaks No English. No One thought Le Pen would get so many. Hollande is Expected to win this 1st Round. But the next 2 weeks matter more. surely more far-right members would be likely to join the conservatives than the socialists? Unless they're voting out of anger for the current government.
Sad that so much power lies with a faction like that... in terms of their immigration policy, at least. Although their anti-EU stance may possibly shake a stick at this idea that France and Germany rule the joint. |
