With Just 3 Weeks to go, shouldn't channel 5 begin advertising soon?
I hope they go flat out like the advertising for the first CBB only have the correct date. The January CBB had good advertising too. Or because its not CBB channel 5 with continue with their trend of running normal BB into the ground and may not advertise at all. Besides the usage of the advert on channel 5 between programs. Well post information or pics here! Hopefully soon we will start to see BB plastered over the UK There was even some adverts here in Belfast for CBB in January. Which I have never seen before. |

Well there's no confirmed launch date, so they can't until then. And by the time they confirm the launch take - it'll take them time to set up a deal with advertisers.
I expect billboards around the UK to be on buses again like in January, by the last week in May. At least I hope, I swear to God - if they completely ignore BB13 in terms of advertising then you just know they really do want CBB to do better than Big Brother.

I'm not putting any posters around college anymore since they took down my MDNA ones.

After the start date's been announced. Though the press release didn't mention billboards, just TV, online and print.

I'm pretty sure by print they mean all printed media, which usually includes billboards, and not just magazine/newspaper adverts.

LOL. My friends put My Little Pony obey posters up and they only got taken down yesterday, 6 months after they were put up. I might make loads of Big Brother posters and stick them everywhere. The science block of my school has My Little Pony stickers all over the staircase in really awkward places

Channel 5 have started a trend of favoring CBB, which is annoying. For example someone said to me in school a while ago they only watch the normal BB in Winter. I was really confused and told them that the one with normal people is the "normal big brother." It seems channel 5 are aiming to make big brother a spin off to the celebrity version. They want people like Amy Childs to front their magazines and channel and want to create their own celebrities as it failed with Aaron and Faye. I think in time "Normal" big brother may just seize to exist. I just hope I am being mellow dramatic and it is not happening, although it does seem like it. I think Channel 5 would much rather the normal series be a success as its cheap to make and takes up so much airtime. |

I think by print they mean ads in The Daily Star which Channel 5 probably get for free. You might be right though.

Someone actually said to me today in school, and I nearly verbally took their head off because of it.
I was like talking to my mate about the new Big Brother advert, because I told him to watch it. And some girl goes, 'Oh Patrick I meant to ask you, who's going into Big Brother this year? ' I was like 'excuse me, wut? I don't know?' And she's all 'You're like a massive fan sure? I want Jedward to go back in haha' then I was like 'OH FFS! IT'S NOT CELEBRITY BIG BROTHER. UGH!' Channel 5 are succeeding in their plan to just completely build on the CBB franchise and as Pronshi said - just make BB a mere spin off to CBB, when it should be the complete opposite. And then you have 'the regular viewer' like that silly girl from my school, who think Big Brother MUST BE FULL OF CELEBRITIES in order to be entertaining, which is why BB12 'failed'.

And the fact it looks like they're not even going to advertise for BB13 - KNOWING that Big Brother requires more advertising than Celebrity Big Brother anyway, is just the final nail in the coffin. It's baffling. As you said - CBB is more expensive to make, yet the ******ers are going to splash out on it again this Summer, and it'll probably completely outshine BB13, it'll be interesting to see actually which performs better considering BB13 is airing first this time around. But I can see them advertising for CBB10 when BB13 is on.

Agree completely- I hate the way 5 are doinag countless series' of CBB. Yeah CBB is good but the original Big Brother is what it's all about- I prefer it with the public and last year we got a crap series that followed on from CBB as it was straight after the CBB series! What would be great this summer is one brilliant series with the public without CBB stuck on the end.

The buses round my area still have the CBB ads on the buses, suppose
they could just spraypaint the new launch date on.
