Sounds sensible. If the parents can't be bothered to properly parent someone's got to do it.

I agree wholeheartedly with this and it should be enforced across the entire UK. Draconian my arse. It's the best thing I've heard for a while. Get it done.

as long as some alternative form of entertainment is arranged for them to get involved in, sports, music whatever etc otherwise it's just draconian oppression imo

I hope these special measures are enforced also for children in local authority care, they are the ones who are in the 'most vulnerable' catagory I would say. It would be interesting to see how they intend to police that.
There are also those for whom home is not a safe place, I hope they are supported in this.

Spot on, and here's a radical idea, why don't the parents.spend some time with them, I play board games such as Scrabble and Cluedo with my son. He's also a keen reader, rather than having his eyes always glued to a tv.

Dumb, it's tarring all under 16 year olds with the same brush because a few are idiots, I would be out after 9 all the time when I was that age, not doing anything bad just going to the cinema or something like that, it's ridiculous that that you can now be a criminal for doing so

yes unfortunately the good pay the price, but I would say it's more than a few, the area where I live is terrible for anti social behaviour and kids roam the streets till all hours, aged as young as 7/8 up to older teens. And they can still do these things (cinema etc) but would have to be escorted home by an adult.

there's no reason to be out that late when yur a kid. you say you went out to see movies, well you could just as easily see a movie earlier in the day and still be home by 9pm, right?

I still don't like the idea of a blanket ban which assumes that someone under the age of 16 who's out after 9 must be causing trouble, it's all quite patronising really. They should be doing more work to try and prevent the genuine troublemakers, instead of bringing in sweeping legislation which punishes the innocent just as much as it does the guilty

They're 15 not 5, you were tucked up in bed by 9 every night at that age?
