Smile Big Brother's Future -

From what I've heard, seen and read, Channel 5 haven't extended their Big Brother contract, as from 2013... I've heard (read) a few times lately that there is speculation that ITV could possibly be interested in buying the Big Brother programme for their channel. Can anyone confirm anything? And also, if ITV did take on Big Brother how do you think the show would benefit from it?

Sorry if this thread's been done before, I've not come across one recently soooo....

I can't see that being true, and I definitely couldn't imagine ITV1 airing the programme daily. Let's hope not to ITV2, going down again!

I think it would be a good risk for the show, if it was true. I'm just not liking what Channel 5 are doing with the show, it's just a beauty contest these days.... Not a social experiment!

This is all I've read...

"On 3 April 2012, Channel 5 confirmed that they had renewed Big Brother until the end of 2014, with the contract consisting of two celebrity series and one regular series a year. There will be a celebrity series in January and then again after the regular summer series"

Where did you read about ITV being interested?

how can you blame C5 when C4 gave up the show? you're luck C5 picked it up or you wouldn't be posting here about BB today

The ITV rumours have been around ages. Channel 5 are keeping Big Brother for the foreseeable future, it's a big hit for them.

I'm blaming C5 because when Big Brother was with C4 the housemates were more diverse and entertaining... but since it's been on C5 the majority of the men are buff, the women are all models and it seems to be an easy ride into a career for them. Big Brother was tough on C4, nothing was easy and the tasks were more fun. Yeah, I understand that things must be hard for them and such, but then again, the people they are choosing for the show seems ridiculous to me, it's just my opinion and I'm sure there will be people on this forum who agree with me. C5 are soooo different to most channels and I wish it would have stayed on C4, but maybe a break after BB11.

@Mullens123
I've not got evidence to show you hahaha, unfortunately. Things have been posted on Twitter and articles have been tagged in comments. If I can find them again I'll post the links!

This is so true. I was looking back at older big brothers, and they
only used to put about one attractive male and two attractive females in. Now it's just full of young women, and they're trying to make it like TOWIE.

I don't know, this series has been amazing so far, don't know what are you all complaining about. BB11 was absolutely dreadful and it was the last series on Channel 4.

It's just obvious.. Ashleigh, Sara, Lydia, Sheivonne, Lauren, Deana, Caroline, they're all young moderately attractive females. In the past it would have been about 2. They only started having this much since it moved to channel 5

They are struggling to beat basic documentary shows with their present format. Employ clueless monkeys and the series goes down the pan. I still cant get over that little fat gay twat they have in charge. he didnt knowthe teams colours and all he was talking about was his new love they found for him after a www search. What a pathetic little ****. It riles me and makes me sick that everyone on the face of the planet has to accept and follow their principles regarding gay and transgender issues as if its against the law not to.

When are they going to give a thought to those of our population that have fought wars, been brought up with hardship and taught to live by a set of rules that most kids just out of puberty have decided are the be all and end all. Little concideration is given to those people that are being forced into accepting vitues they have spent their whole lives being ashamed of. It will take time and a slowly slowly aproach but we will get there if everyone plays their part.

CH5 made a mistake by forcing their young views down the throats of the viewing public who have a wide and diverse acceptance of whats right and whats wrong. Somethings shouldnt reach the airways and some should be censored. These dicks cant do their jobs and when the **** hits the fan due to their ineptitude, they dont know how to deal with it.
