Raisins are dried grapes and sultanas are dried seedless grapes they are larger and a different colour they are different things and if you dry seedless grapes for a lot longer they become currants.

I've never heard of Sultanas then... why don't we have them in America?

I was watching Come Dine With Me, and he called what looked like normal raisins to me "sultanas" so i figured they were just raisins. Im gonna have to seek out these sultanas then, cause i love raisins.

Do they taste the same as raisins?

Raisins and Sultanas are similar, Sultanas are more sweeter.
