Default US unemployment falls to 7.8% could this save Obama?

Its generally agreed Obama wasnt exactly on fire at the first presidential debate

However, as with the 2008 campaign, he didnt do punch and judy politics and didnt engage in trading insults with mccain. I remember after the first 2 debates, most pundits asked whey didnt obama destroy mccain. why bother? obama let mccain destroy himself.

Its like big brother last year, the outsiders rightly said, all we have to do is sit out here and smoke and stay out of trouble, whilst the insiders destroy themselves. hey presto the outsiders were the top 3 left standing

petty arguments and trading insults reduce everyone

yes romney stared at the president , yes he sounded more aggressive for the viewers and yes he attacked him more, his "I dont have a clue what youre talking about" was a particular low point in this baiting.

obama stood back, employing the usual laid back, methodical, rope a dope counter attacking position. basically he let romney expose himself, now the critics pick outromneys lies and contradictions

today the jobs rate is the lowest since obama came into power. the timing couldnt be better. the stock market is the highest in 9 years too, a factor obama should mention, but must also be careful not to sound like hes a champion of the rich

all this without the american jobs act being passed?

Retail sales are at their highest too since 2009 at $360 billion

For me romney is just about the very rich. hes said so in his own words. he doesnt care about the 47% who he thinks are freeloading scavengers. He also wants spend $2 trillion more on the military, yet doesnt tell anyone why? talk about playing to the far right corporations and weapons brokers. disgusting. knowing the country cannot afford more stupid wars at phenomenal expense in terms of soldiers and finances.

he dismisses obamacare, yet used the same structure in his own home state?

since romney is through his talking points which he trots out on fox news on a daly basis, does he have anything else to say?

I dont even understand why this venture capitalist even wants the top job? do you? is it just another hobby, another feather in his hat, something to boost his ego? he doesnt even care about half the nation, doesnt pay much attention to the bottom 47%, so why doesnt he simply go back to running his companies and playing his mone games?

So it's now back to the same rate it was just before Obama became President, he's not really made that much progress

its slightly lower now than when he took power

but havea look at the state of the economy in bush last 2 years, it was in mental freefall, he went from 4.5% to 8.5% in his last 2 years. whilst at the same time overseeing the financial collapse and passing the multi trillion bail outs. if bush had foresight you could even believe he deliberately handed obama a poisoned chalice.

I think obamas achievements are extraordinary. all this without the american jobs act, plus dozens of other massive bills blocked or ruined by the republicans.

in the middle of the worst recession in 80 years, he still gave 50 million american health care coverage, he still agreed a historic arms agreement to dismantle the soviets nuclear arsenal by 40% and americas by 33%, he still brought to an end the illegal iraqi occuptation, he still took down the main teerorists masterminds, he still help topple the libyan dictator ghadaffi, he still saw the US auto motor industry go back to the biggest in the world, he still took the top american companies to their wealthiest position in 9 years...he still produced record retail sales, he still invested 100's of billions in science and research including stem cell research, he still increased spending on education year on year in real terms, he still managed to get the banks to repay their debts to the treasury on time. his agreements were infinitely tighter and more detailed than anything produced in europe. in the US obamas government fined these corrput companies tens of billions.

he also still managed to reduce guanatamo bay by 70% , he also proved infulential is getting the europeans finally move forward in their dreadful deadlock, with new agreements and stimulus packages in place to stabilise the economies and the markets. he still managed to avoid any more wars in the middle east so far, he still managed to expand his economy at a far faster rate than any european nation.

Don't think he needs saving to be honest... I really can't see him losing in November. But this is good news... Romney's only real criticism of Obama appears to be his plans to cut (is it $2 trillion? from) military spending. Which, sure, will lose a fair number of jobs but if you're spending in surplus of $2 trillion on your military I think you can afford to cut that corner.

yes 2 trillion dollars obama wants to spend on military than romney
this would still leave the US military bigger than the next 10 biggest nations in thw world put together

these are public jobs paid for by the tax payer, so that 2 trillion would come directly off the public debt and would be an enourmous saving for america
the money could be reinvested in other private jobs and other urgent areas such as education, science, stem cell, health, public services like fire departments, policing etc

obama also wants to further tighten gun laws and I 100% support him on that too
