This series seriously bores me in terms of contestants. There are no exciting prospects this year, I find all of the contestants really dull and I don't see any of them having even the slightest success beyond the show. The only one I actually like is Melanie but she's going to be slaughtered for being a 'one trick pony' - you can already see it coming, I think it was Tulisa or Nicole who said that the song choice was 'predictable' tonight and they've only had one live show. It was a bloody cheeky comment to make when you look at half the song choices! But yeah, is it just me who thinks this is the worst line up since pre-Leona times? There just isn't a stand out star amongst this bunch.

I liked Little Mix and they ended up winning but otherwise I thought last year was equally as bland. I think this show is running out of steam, regardless of what the ratings say. They keep upping their expected requirements from their contestants to the point where we don't get to see any 'growth' on the show, which I think was part of the appeal when it was at its height of popularity, because everyone's already stage school perfect and nobody has any quirks that aren't copied off of whoever's currently popular (Ed Sheeran, Jessie J and Rita Ora pretty much)

Nah, in terms of diversity I'd say it's one of the better line-ups. Nowhere near as good as series five or seven but a definite improvement on last year.
My only complaint about this series is that there is no 'spark', but I think that's down to the panel more than anything. It's just...dull. Gary's the only thing keeping it entertaining and of course Louis is always a gem. Nicole is just a boring choice really, when you think there were rumours of Katy Perry flying around at one point and even Mel B turned out to be more entertaining, it's like...really? At least last year they were new so it was slightly intriguing...this year, just plain. |

Better than last two years, but yeah it's pretty boring. X Factor as a whole is on it's last legs.

Yeah I agree about the judges being boring Jack. I don't like Louis, I think he's pointless now and they should replace him with a singer so that the mentors are actually current popstars. I think that would throw a spanner into the works of The Voice. Gary is good at his job and so is Tulisa but because they're both so monotonous and, well, boring, I think they need to add a fun personality (Katy Perry would have been perfect) to liven it up. Nothing against Nicole, she's lovely, but she's pretty boring as a judge. A young Paula Abdul.

Just getting stale now really, you know what acts you're going to get, the boybands for the tweens, the joke act for the rebels to vote for, the quirky one who plays the guitar who will probably be found out, the shouty one, the extremely average over 30 or whatever it is, the rocker, the one/ones who attempt to incorporate rap, and the ones who only do ballads

Last year we had more acts, more variety too (this year we have no girl bands) and a fun judge (Kelly) yet that was the worst series... so this year is not looking good. Hope I'm proven wrong though.

It's like anything else. It gets stale after a while and it is not re-invented enough. The shows get longer (2 hrs 20 mins last night) and (like last Sunday) dragged out. Do we really need such a long show for 12 x yes and 12 x no? As ever, I think there are some good performers there, and some not so good. The interesting thing for me is seeing how much better the acts can progress during the coming weeks and evolve. It doesn't particularly seem that exciting at the moment, but I hope that can change over the weeks. As for the judges...I personally don't particularly like Tulisa, and feel there are others who could maybe fit in better. And Gary may not be the most entertaining of people, but his saving grace is his sometimes controversial comments and his honesty.
