Much as I love this programme for highlighting the hard work of our public services tonight i'm a bit annnoyed...
Tonights episode focuses on mental health, in the first 2 mins of the programme a 999 operator refers to callers as 'fruitloops' and one distraught caller was advised to 'man up'. I feel this was quite disrespectful and unprofessional.

Alan was the recovering alcoholic wasn't he? I felt quite sorry for him. Glad he was doing better at the end of the programme. I was a bit aghast at the guy ringing up saying he had taken an overdose if I am honest. It was all done for attention. Down to the point of forcing his eyes shut so as to make them think he was "drifting off". And he does this kind of thing habitually for the attention. The programme highlighted a lot of the things the police do that some would not realise. As it was said, some spend most of their time being a social worker, but are not particularly qualified.

It was a particularly heart wrenching episode, the poor guy with the dual personality.
Suicide and alcoholism, taking calls from tortured souls that were at there wits end literally... It was hard to watch at times, another eye opener.
