We were only allowed to do so then. I was also made to go to church on Christmas day before I was allowed to open my presents. They usually consisted of an apple and a tangerine in a sock weighted down on the mantle piece.

I have seen no end of peeps Christmas decorations up the last few weeks now so they have probably got their trees up also, I even got my first Christmas card a few days ago. Maybe it's because the world is supposed to end on the 23rd, so they want to celebrate early?

My Mum usually starts with it the week before Christmas, Christmas eve is when she prefers it to go up though.
