Considering their ratings have slumped since BB left.

They did it for long enough, and it must be a mare to stage now with CBB too.

I think they didn't want to be known primarily for one show only and in that respect will probably feel glad to be rid of it (as well as rating drops).
But on the other hand I don't think they have really managed to replace it with anything else that draws in big viewing figures (to my knowledge anyway) so they might regret not sticking with it a little while longer and trying a re-vamp. |

Yes they should regret it because it gave them the opportunity to refresh the channel with new shows or focus on the good ones they still had but instead we got that boring Seven Days show and the only show I still watch on Channel 4, Shameless, continued to turn sour so it's getting the axe

BB thrives on controversy as a talking point though. BB12 got some attention because of the nudity and BB13 was the most complained about TV show to Ofcom in 2012. As much damage as CBB5 did for the next few years, if it hadn't been for the race row that series would not have had the amount of viewers as it did

Probably not. They might miss the ratings but I think they're just happy they don't have to deal with all the controversy and negative opinions that the show comes with.

They still have their endless repeats of Come Dine With Me, they seem happy with that <3.

C4 has really lost it's identity by dropping Big Brother. What is it actually known for now?

That's probably true. Gone are the days when Channel 4 used to have interesting, risky and daring shows. Nowadays the most shocking/explicit show of theres is Embarassing Bodies cos you can guarantee there'll be a leaky bollock, vulva or anus

Nah i dont think so.
Those 4 months a year Big Brother was on all Channel 5 execs must have been sh!tting their pants. They had to tread so carefully after the CBB5 shambles. |

Considering ch 4 really struggles to pull a good 16-34 demographic now, then yes. They've lost more revenue and ratings etc then gained since bb was axed
Like others stated they will be relieved to be rid of the brand as some look down on it. |

Maybe, maybe not. But Ch4 really is in a dire state at the moment.
