Looks like he left the car and ran off on foot, must have been a pretty awful crash if they were both beyond any help at the scene, I guess he just completely panicked and then thankfully came to his senses and did the right thing

I suspect he may have been over the limit and panicked in his drunken state. Once he sobered up he realised what he had done and thankfully turned himself in.

No choice really CCTV cameras would have probably identified the car and police would have eventually tracked him down. By leaving the scene of the accident however will also be charged against him along with causing death by dangerous driving so he is looking at a lengthy prison sentence in any case (possibly longer if he had not turned himself in to Police)

How you can plough into two cyclists head on is beyond belief, perhaps be was texting on his phone and did not see either of them, guess the details of this case will come to light eventually.

So very sad for the families of the cyclists killed...!!!

I just heard on the news that the Police were trying to stop this car minutes earlier for speeding, so who knows maybe it was stolen and being driven by Joyriders. Also heard the couple who died were on a tandem bicycle . They were newlyweds and were about to start a family.

So very sad...!!!
