I come from a large family, so yeah I do quite often feel nostalgic for my childhood days, the nostalgia is a mixture of happy and sad, but mostly happy.

I'm only 20 and miss my younger days already. I used to curse Secondary School so much, but what I would give to live those days again.

No. I prefer not to think about them.

Only felt truly happy the last year or so.

Yes, I do get nostalgic from time to time.

Nothing like being a young kid with no responsibilities and adulthood felt like a lifetime away, life feels like its flying by so quickly since I left high school.

I do most days, it's quite bittersweet!

Happy because they were such happy times and sad because it's not the same now!

Thread is depressing.

People who say your best days are your school days, also really bug me. I don't know why it is. I just can't relate at all. There's so much more you can experience as an adult.

I think people who say that are referring to the freedom, no responsibilities, no worries and wonder of being a child.

@ the min im thinking of childhood a lot, as most of u know i lost my mam last oct and have just recently sold the family home. It wasnt gone just yet we r waiting on a date but weve been emtying all the furniture etc out, i was actually born in the house and im 46 now so as u can imagine theres a boatload of memories for me from that house. Its going to be so very strange when its gone. All i remember is happy times in that house, skool not so much but the house, the backlane, the gang etc etc brill times.

What you guys are talking about isn't really nostalgia.

Nostalgia is like seeing a teenage mutant ninja turtle and remembering how much you loved them. When you were a kid you weren't thinking about "how freeing it is" you're projecting that onto your former self. Nostalgia is just remembering specific happy memories.

Yes, because I spent so much time with my Grandmother,(My Mum's Mother), the memories are happy ones but they make me feel sad because it cannot be done now.
Also she has missed so much of what I have so far achieved yet was the real guiding light to most of what I have set out to do.

Yeah, and almost always happy. I do miss always being able to hang out with my closest friends since we're spread around the country now but on the other hand it does make the occasions we're able to meet up more special, and there's Facebook and phones for the more frequent catch-ups, so oh well

Nostalgia is sentimentality for the past, so yes, it's nostalgia. It's not about your child self thinking about how free you were, but you were free and you miss it.

It's like how when someone dies, you only remember the good things about them.
