He's not the politest of people admittedly when the video picks up but he's making a point and standing for his rights, why should he have to get out of the car and why exactly did the police officer call for 'backup'? It's intimidation.

This is the description on the video (which is the original copy uploaded by the man it seems):

Quote:
Another officer who thinks he's above the law. He thinks he can stop me under the Road Traffic Act, and then try and open my car door, which he isn't entitled to do. He causes me to feel harassed, distressed and alarmed, and should be arrested under the Public Order Act. He tells me I am not being detained and that I am free to go, then when I start to drive away he says over his radio that I am making off. He requests assistance and another 7 cuntstubbles turn up in 3 vehicles , then he tries to open my car door again.
I'd like to know why he was trying to open my door, and what his intentions were if the door had opened. He tells me to turn the camera off so he can speak to me properly..Why wouldn't a law abiding cuntstubble be able to speak to me properly on camera ? I might set up a website expose-corrupt-police.org, where people can upload their videoed evidence of police behaving inappropriately. I'm getting sick of them.. It's not just the odd one, every time I get stopped they try and open my door or order me out of the car, because the power goes to their head and they think they're above the law. And they wonder why there are Dale Cregans and Raoul Moats out there. 2 cunstubbles were ran over recently in Manchester after stopping a vehicle. It wouldn't surprise me if they were abusing their authority too. I've been persecuted by the police since being a child, I've been assaulted, verbally abused and had them lie in order to get an arrest. I'm sure there are millions of people out there who have suffered similar experiences too. How long do they think people will put up with it for ? I'm sure that there are nice coppers out there, that do things by the book. And I love any copper that stops an old lady getting mugged, or catches a rapist hiding in the bushes, or a kiddy fiddler outside a school, but in my experience the majority of them have let their power go to their head and think that they can behave exactly how they want, breaking laws whilst enforcing them on other people. Imagine what they're doing when they are not being filmed.

Standing up for his rights or acting like a complete idiot hhhmmm let me think... I've been stopped by the Police in my car before, doesn't bother me in the slightest, I have nothing to be afraid of and they're just trying to do their job. He sounds like exactly the type of person a Chav would be tbqh, are you suggesting I have something against working class people? I am a working class person and I'm certainly not labeling all working class people as Chavs, just complete tools like that guy.

No, that word has been become part of the mainstream culture and is used to generalise a lot of working class people and ignore the vast inequality prevalent in society which causes a lot of social problems that are attributed to these so-called 'chavs'. It's turning working class people on their own kind, really.

Quote:
In modern Britain, the working class has become an object of fear and ridicule. From Little Britain's Vicky Pollard to the demonization of Jade Goody, media and politicians alike dismiss as feckless, criminalized and ignorant a vast, underprivileged swathe of society whose members have become stereotyped by one, hate-filled word: chavs. In this acclaimed investigation, Owen Jones explores how the working class has gone from 'salt of the earth' to 'scum of the earth.' Exposing the ignorance and prejudice at the heart of the chav caricature, he portrays a far more complex reality. The chav stereotype, he argues, is used by governments as a convenient figleaf to avoid genuine engagement with social and economic problems and to justify widening inequality.
I really don't think your stereotypical, so-called 'chav' would have a car or a basic understanding of acts of law or police and citizen's rights either.

If he's been stopped many times then it's not surprising. I've only been stopped 4 times, but I'm already fed up of the bs they spout and the fact a large majority generally think they can chat to you with zero respect just because of their uniform.

But that makes him a 'chav'? One day a 'chav' is someone wearing a tracksuit and a hoody, the next it's someone that drinks Stella, and now it's anyone that's 'rude', 'obnoxious' and 'insulting'?

I'm not denying the insults were unnecessary, but that doesn't make him a 'chav' or mean the police are in the right.

Yes, because people need to understand that perpetuating this stereotype is damaging for the people it is supposed to characterise and the rest of society. It's a smokescreen for the real social issues and is just a way to push a certain section of society further down the pile and cause more problems. This isn't me trying to accuse you of anything btw so please don't take it that way because I wouldn't want to cause offence, this is a word that's part of the mainstream culture so I'm not surprised you used it (many other people have in the comments section of the video), I'm just trying to point out the problems it creates or indeed covers up.

I would recommend to anyone reading a bit of this, it's the actual opening chapter of the book and it works better than me trying to condense it down and explain it.

That was hilarious. The driver is perfectly within his rights tbh. Why are there four police officers for one road traffic offence? Despite what you may think of the drivers behavior and demeanor he is in the right. There is no need for 4 police to apprehend this one driver. They are taking the piss what ever way you look at it.

The end where the police drive off sums it up. They know there's no offense taking place here.

....I don't think a lot of members of the public would put up with what the police have to with certain people..the guy was so obnoxious and offensive and they just have to stand there and accept it...
