It's not a CONTRACTUAL MATTER at all. there are no contracts when you work part-time.
Yes there are Alex. Even bank/casual workers should be provided with contracts over here.

You brought up the closing vs paying overtime argument. It was not relevant in this matter.

and what do you think happens to people who complain that those hours arn't reasonable?

If every single mcdonalds worker has a contract salary in the UK, obviously things are very different in the UK compared to the US, I don't think that's true though. I don't think you know wtf you're talking about.

Well why would they? They sign the contract before commencing employment, so why would they bitch about it being unreasonable after accepting the job on those terms?

I'm pretty sure that every single worker, McDonalds or otherwise will have contracts in the UK.

SO she has the opportunity to reveal on video why these guys were ineligible for food, but she decides not to point out anything he's done, in favour of pushing the one kid, and trying to grab the other ones phone?

Doesn't sound like they could have been intimidating.

..maybe they were just trying to get some food beforehand..?..we don't know Arista...I don't personally see any of them as 'chav punks' though..and yeah, maybe Facebook isn't a place to get news stories but this is more of a debate about the issue of the safety of employees working late at night over the outlet staying open until the stated closing time...the source of the story itself is irrelevant as it's only used as a way to spark the debate.....ok Arista, have it moved, it really doesn't matter to me...I'm only interested in people's views about it .....

Why does anything else have to have gone down? Is it too much of a stretch to believe that 2 kids rocked up to McDonalds to get food, and were refused and abused?

..just to take it slightly off topic Arista..here's a news story of someone who was refused to be served because of a policy of not wearing certain clothing after 7pm....

Teen refused service at McDonalds for wearing tracksuit bottoms

A McDonald’s restaurant has revealed it has banned tracksuits after 7pm, after a teenager was refused service for wearing tracksuit bottoms

Teenager Scott Wilson was refused a cheeseburger at McDonald’s as he was wearing tracksuit bottoms.

The 16-year-old was told by staff he and his mates ‘looked like causing trouble’ and so wouldn’t be served.

Undaunted, Scott went straight home, changed into a shirt and tie and returned to get his cheeseburger, fries and soft drink.

He said: ‘I was just wearing a normal jacket, with some joggers, because I’d come straight from work.

‘Another friend was wearing tracksuit bottoms, and the other was wearing jeans with pumps.

‘We walked up to the counter, and started trying to order but the woman behind the counter just said, “I’m not serving you,” and we were asked to leave.

‘We were confused. We just looked at each other. When we asked why, she said we looked like we had been causing trouble.’

Bosses at the restaurant in Leyland, near Preston, said they had been forced to implement a policy, which includes banning under-18s wearing tracksuits and hoodies after 7pm, because of customers and staff being threatened.

Manager Nigel Dunnington said: ‘Unfortunately, this lad has been caught in the middle of things when I have tried to do the right thing.

http://metro.co.uk/2011/01/26/mcdona...ervice-633502/

..I find the last part interesting because maybe the guys in the original vid had also been 'caught up in the middle of things..'...because there had been previous incidents involving other customers....

Also Arista stop telling people if an article is a serious debate or not, let the mods decide if they want to move threads. Its fricking irritating youre not on thread duty y'know. Post on topic and stop thinking you can dictate to people about their threads.

stop trying to make out that she was the one in the wrong, cause she wasn't. AT ALL.

First and foremost this is not the first time this has happened as he has gone with phone in hand to a locked door. Secondly his voice is provocative and annoying. Thirdly, any food establishment that serves food cooked to order closes the kitchen at least 15 minutes before they close. Ever tried getting something to eat at a restaurant that advertises food served 12 - 3pm at 2.50? so he is a bit of an idiot. Fourthly not every part time worker in the UK has a contract, some workers work part time on a casual basis. She shouldn't have pushed him he could have her done for GBH unfortunately even though he was asking for it.

Ridiculous how much the twat was instigating an argumemt for the sake of it, there could have been a proper reason for why it had to be closed. Not only that, but I believe McDonalds to be a private company, and if need be they can open late/close early, although don't hold me on that. Yeah, she could have handled it better, but most people would get the jist and just leave it... if you're ordering food that late, then you need to sort out your dinner arrangments

Tbf I know we don't get hourly contracts, I could have 8 hours one week and 40 the next
