This was really fascinating for me to make (both as a film maker and as a big brother fan) it really gave me a complete insight into the editing process the goes on over at Channel 5.

Using the same software, and examining an episode of BB13 and an episode of BB9 - I was able to create this.

In 2008, the electric shock task dominated the majority of the episode and that's why it's so well known and loved - because of the drama and quality that came out of it. We had funny moments, great reactions, almighty arguments all around the house after that ask - I did what Channel 5 have been doing since 2011, and squeezed so much of that episode down into a tiny little tacky montage, using un-necessary effects that only make the show camper.

Whilst I have come to be accustomed to Channel 5's way of editing (as it allows for easy episode progression and flow) - I hate the useless effects and ofc the dramatic narrative provided by Marcus Bellend.

It actually makes you realise how different the editing is now than how it used to be. Of course, we all know it's different but literally putting it side by side (as I clearly remember that episode) it makes you realise.

Maybe they should get you on the editing team

You know what...I got to hand it to you. That was excellent. The editing is something I have learned to live with and try to ignore (as opposed to the twitch I used to get every time the show started) but...yeah. Just made me pine for the good old days, might have to rewatch some of the older series soon to remember.

I found BB12 and 13 mostly just excrement. But had they been given more live feed and better editing it may have been a whole lot better. Like that form of editing would have lost a lot of what was good about watching the entire task unfold normally in BB9.

Which makes me think if 12 and 13 were a lot more interesting/entertaining than they were given credit for in the edits.
