I've been reading through loads of Dan hate on various forums and I'd just like to know why he's so disliked all of a sudden?

He was right about suspecting the peoples puppet and in every argument he's been in so far he's had valid points and been right....for example with Dexter he called him out and made Dexter look a fool (because he was/is) & again with Jemima, she called him two faced behind his back (oh the irony) because he had a go at her...to her face and not behind her back.

I just feel like there's a bandwagon and people are hopping on it, I like Dan and think he's a really good housemate and I really don't get this hate. There are FAR more offensive people in that house than him, no?

The biggest reason I have seen is that people think he is bitchy. However, everyone in the house talks about people behind their backs. Gina does it, Sallie did it, Jem does it, the twins were doing it last night and Hazel was also talking about Dexter behind his back yesterday, although it seems Dan is the one to get the blame.

I have also seen reasons which state he is a "stereotypical gay" and he is a "stereotypical copper" .. now, if that doesn't speak volumes about people on this forum, I don't know what does.

Sometimes, I will never understand some of the people on this forum. Dan is getting the flack for what everyone else does.

People were stating he was being smug last night... well of course he is going to be smug, he sussed Michael out from day one. If I was in Dan's position, I would also have jumped up and said "I knew it" because Dan sussed him out.

The thing is, some housemates can't do right for doing wrong unfortunately. If Dan had sat in the background and was just there to wipe up everyone's tears and to give advice to housemates and talk to them in the tree house and he just sat around doing what Daley does, then he would be slagged off as well. But it seems he gets slagged off anyway for doing the complete opposite. So I give up with the Dan-bashing on this forum!

Also people saying a gay person=a bitchy person seriously needs to look at themselves in a mirror.

I just think sometimes people follow other peoples opinions that have zero substance & then they become 'popular opinion', it's dumb really.

It would seem Dan has been a bit more vocal about things on the highlights. He confronted Dexter, he confronted Jem and so on and so forth, so people have taken a disliking to him because of that. Although what they fail to grasp is all the housemates are talking about each other in there.

And I must agree, some of the members on this forum do come across as a bit sheepish, many do follow what others say for the sake of it.

I think Dan been a cracking HM at least people have opinions on him, good or bad, I can't get all the hate for him all of sudden, just because he was right about Micheal, as I said in another thread I would rather be talked about than not talked about at all, & also he doesn't sit on the fence & doesn't share his opinions, like some of the other HM's in fear of being nominated.

Yeah & he calls people out to their face when he thinks they're wrong about something...and usually shows them up because he was genuinely right.

Yeah but that's simply not true is it? You're doing a Jemima there by calling him two faced...he's anything but, he told Michael he thought he was a mole & was 100% correct, he called Dexter out on what he said & then called Jemima out as well - where does two faced fit into that?

Erm yeah it is... He was constantly slagging Michael off behind his back, regardless if he had told him that he thought he was a mole, he continued to bitch about him...

He was also caught out slagging off Dexter behind his his back, by Dexter himself when he walked into the bedroom...

He is arrogant because of the way he speaks to people & talks down to them in a patronising manner... I don't think he does look good by the way, certainly not as good as he himself thinks he is...

It could be one or more of the reasons you have seen people giving. Or it could just be an instinctual dislike. Whatever it is, vast numbers of people want him gone.

Poor Jemima didn't stand a chance he railroads people into submission until thu too tired to argue their point! Thus allowing him to gain the upper hand and assume he's won.

Eg to dexter 'I thought you were a publicist, you can't even get your words out' then laughs in his face

The bits in bold explain very well why he has begun to annoy me.

Him talking about Michael being a mole constantly ? - Didn't really bother me because he was right and couldn't help being suspicious.

Him confronting Dexter and Jemima? - Doesn't bother me either because he has his reasons which were valid enough reasons imo.

It's the WAY he confronts people. He is patronising and does shout people down and not give them a chance. This is what I find irritating.

It's the holier-than-thou refusal to admit that he's just as bad as everyone else for bitching. I also found his jumping up and down and talking over the Michael VT last night frustrating since they were missing out important details.

I still like him as a HM but he strikes me as in love with himself.
