The 25-year-old actor, who plays love rat Ryan Connor, joined the soap last year after taking over the role of Michelle Connor’s son Ryan from previous actor Ben Thompson.

Sol is gearing up to film his final scenes, with his exit storyline being shown at the end of the summer.

In the show Ryan will decide there is nothing keeping him in Weatherfield after he is dumped by girlfriend Katy Armstrong. So when he gets an offer of a job as a DJ in Ibiza he decides to leave the famous cobbles.

Sol admitted that he will miss his on-screen mum Kym Lomas, 37.

He said: “Kym is one of my best friends on the show. She took me under her wing and we’ve become best friends.

“She’s ace, we talk all the time. And with Ryan being Michelle’s son there’s a chance he could come back.”

Good-looking Sol was voted 38th out of 100 in Attitude’s hottest men poll last week.

But he revealed he has been getting abuse from die-hard Corrie fans who were upset because his character had broken up Chesney and Katy’s relationship and then treated her badly.He said: “I get a lot of people shouting at me asking why I’m so mean to Chesney.

“Guys congratulate me on having a gorgeous girlfriend but other people moan and say I should leave her alone.

“I was on a golf course recently and the lady behind the bar refused to serve me.

“She said ‘You’re an arsehole. I can’t serve you’. She said what I’d done to Chesney and Katy was awful.

“But as an actor that’s the kind of reaction you want and I’ve been lucky to have so many different storylines.”

Weirdly he was on This Morning the other day saying he looked forward to a future in the show. Seems like he's been axed, rather than quit.

Not really liked him since he came back, the change in character between him and the old Ryan was never really believable I don't think, bit of a shame it looks like he will just have remained a bit of a dick through his whole second stint though

Yeah, the return kinda ruined who Ryan Connor was, they didn't even bother looking for someone who looked like Ben Thompson.

For me he hasn't worked at all, I am glad this is happening.

I would have rather seen Michelle's 'real' son's character brought back rather than bring Ryan back from Uni as such a totally different sort of personality.
