People with serious money really think they are beyond reproach. I'd never do that to a good friend of mine, and I'm sure my good ones wouldn't do that to me either.

I'd go absolutely nuts if that happened to me. It's not like his divorce will be an easy thing for him to be going through as it stands, but throw in your best mate impregnating your wife, then ******ing hell. I'd seriously fly at Cowell if I was him.
