Why do people feel the need to comment negatively? Does it make you feel good about yourself or something? I'm sure he's doing a lot better than his detractors... but people just can't help trying to be clever.

Agreed. And in a way negative things typed on the internet is a bit cowardly. People face-to-face in real life would not be so rude.
