Default Confirmed: X Factor, Britain's Got Talent renewed until 2016
In news that will surprise literally no-one, ITV is reportedly close to agreeing three-series extensions for X Factor and Britain's Got Talent that'll keep them on air until 2016

An official announcement could be made as early as next month, and it's believed the contract stipulates that Simon Cowell must appear as a judge on at least one of the two shows each year

The commercial broadcaster is in the final stages of negotiations with producers Syco Entertainment and FremantleMedia UK label Thames, with the deal set to be announced in November.

In recent months, ITV and Cowell have indicated that the two juggernaut entertainment shows would return, with the existing three-year deal due to end after the current series of The X Factor.

YAY I was getting a bit worried that any X Factor contract renewal might be a year-on-year one since the figures are declining each series but this'll be excellent news if it goes through

I remember when the 2010 contract was signed and we were talking about the tenth series...doesn't seem that long ago

Simon needs to be back on the panel though

Kinda hopes that Simon leaves the US version and just does the UK version and lets the US version do it's own thing.

Might Benefit both shows in the long run (Yes I am aware of the US ratings, but it's the most watched show on Fox outside of Idol. Probably will get renewed if shows below it are getting less and tonight's show does well)

BGT needed to end long ago, but I think it's Simon's favourite show the way he's still quite involved in it, doing the ads for it and stuff. Last series took the piss, Attraction wasn't original at all and has been doing the rounds in vegas for years, wasn't original at all..and they need to get rid of singers

An 18 year old girl (Ashleigh) has managed to progress and make a sh*t load of money in her life thanks to that dog, I don't see your point?

Plus she's the talented one for training Pudsey to do all the stuff he does

My point is, other contenstants would of been more profitable. Thats my point.

The X Factor really needs to improve it's quality if it wants to go near the Big Brother series count.

BGT would still be good if it was seen as a variety show again..

The final is practically X Factor now.. it's very rare they'll have more than 2 'unique' acts in the final... this year they got lucky, but still the majority were singers.
