In what circumstances are you likely to tip someone for their services?
I’m American so I’m tipping her there and every lol spreading the money about. But I know brits tend to be a little more reserved when it comes to tipping.

Usually if I've only got cash in notes I'll do the whole "keep the change" thing but that's usually no more than a few quid - usually taxis or the barbers/shop. Just a little suttin suttin.

To actually tip for service it would only be if it was genuinely great service, I don't really buy into the "tipping as standard" thing. With the youngest being learning disabled, the thing most likely to prompt me to tip someone is if they're good with her/understanding and not "weird" about her not speaking to them etc... it's a real mixed bag with waiting staff.
Pro-tip for anyone who uses physical bookies on the regular though... tip the staff when you get a good win. It's not supposed to get you preferential treatment but it probably will . |
