I think men get the better deal in life. We're on the way to achieving equality for women at least in this country but there's still a long way to go.

In the history of the United Kingdom I would say men for the vast majority of time had the better deal however there have been short periods of times, for example both world wars where I would say being a man was more of a rough time.

In this day and age I think men slightly still get it easier but the gap is as small as it's ever been.

Obviously men. Even in a country that's trying to be as equal as the UK there's still a massive lack of women in power. But factor in all those crazy Saudis and Iranians, and yeah... no question about it.

Depends on what you want out of life I suppose.

As a woman I managed to do ok in my career.
Then I was lucky enough to be given the opportunity to stay a home with the kids when we had them.

I consider myself the lucky one in our relationship.

I am the one that gets to snuggle under the duvet whilst hubby gets up at 5 in the morning and de-ice the car to go and do a 12 hour shift.



Of course, the other side of the coin...hubby is very lucky to have me as his wife

I think men on the safety aspect of things,women are more likely to be attacked ,and women on the work front as it's men that usually work all their lives.

Women, they get much longer maternity leave than men have paternity, Universities I visit have women only buses & many women in science bursaries & special days even though there are more girls on the course

Yes, women get more maternity leave, however its the woman who has to actually give birth so I think that evens itself out a bit.

Men dont tend to have to work as hard as women do to get better pay/promotions. But at the same time, men tend to work for longer while the women look after the kids/retire earlier so again it evens itself out.

Women live longer in general, but is it really a good thing to live to be 80+? I think i depends on a lot of things. I would rather die younger than live to be older and have no end of problems.

In short, I think its about even (in the UK anyway)

Men have it easier, they don't have periods so don't experience period pain, they cant have babies, they don't live as long that's a good thing in my book. They only need to shave the faces or they can even have a beard if they want.
