Default Feeling very nostalgic

I don't know, I've got channel 4 on for some comedy awards thing, and I just started randomly thinking about how BB was on 4, especially the launch night. Davina's opening lines, an amazing house tour, housemates leaving from cars, not some eye... I just really miss BB on 4 lol, just mad looking at how much it's changed and how it doesn't feel like 'event' tv anymore I guess

BB will unfortunately never be the same, BB1-7 were perfect and as an avid fan from the beginning I've seen it just deteriorate (with a nice surprise in BB9).

I agree, I think back to when BB was being discussed everywhere, especially BB7 where people like Nikki, Pete and Grace were plastered on the papers and everyone was talkin about it I do miss how big it used to be but at the same time it's sill capable of producing good series with good housemates (BB13, BB14) so I suppose that's all that matters

It's not that the series haven't been good, BB13/14 were great imo, but they no longer feel like event television, which is a shame considering what a huge show it used to be. I'd honestly love for the tackyness to get rid but it isn't happening lol

..it's just not the same when we don't see them in 'normal' situations anymore..just chatting together about this and that/trying to cook etc...in the highlights/vid clips, all we see is the arguments/controversy and I think you need a balance to that to make it what it was...

I agree Ammi, interacting without silly side tasks and being forced into things by BB is something I miss most

Sounds stupid, I even miss the adverts before the show where it showed an argument or something happening lol

Yeah but I grew up with the show from the early stages and I loved the novelty of it for the first few seasons. My obsession of the show kept my interests at a high for 6-9 but I knew deep down it wasn't the same

I think the problem is that as the show grew bigger, so did the personalities, so producers were always trying to 'out-do' the year before, if that makes sense?

The editing and twists suck so bad now, it is pretty much a different show nowadays (and not for the better). However BB13 does hold a special place in my heart, even if overplayed Top 40 tunes dominated the highlights shows.

Couldn't agree more, BB13 being shown in, say, 2006 or something would have been amazing

thanks for reminding me about the comedy awards

but yeah, big brother could have been bigger than it was; channel 5 ruined the show, I know BB13/14 had good housemates but the editing, tasks, eviction crowd and outside influence is a joke and I have never got used to it and I never will.
