Default I only judge Jim by what I see in the house

time and again I keep seeing this comment made on here and other Forums. The problem, however, with this is that what has happened outside the house (Frank Carson's dressing room etc.) and other things that have happened between Jim and Linda in the past, are continuing to form people's opinions inside.

Linda's hatred of Jim clearly has its roots in the past and without knowing it, you can never truly judge if she is justified in what she thinks or not. Personally, I find it hard to believe that someone with the views and history of Jim has truly changed. I think it's more likely that he has been cleverly suppressing it. It's a tactic to survive in the house but in no way shows he is now a pleasant person.

I think he's handled the whole Linda thing pretty well for the most part, that being said he's a ****ing grumpy bastard as well. Oh and I love the way he had a big rant about how noisy luisa was being the other night but so was her partner in crime Dappy, but Jim tells Dappy Oh no you're fine......

..with all respect, I don't think that you can say that in that you don't know why people like or dislike someone, we all have different perspectives on things...it's true that with celebrities we all have preconceived opinions of what we know about them but those opinions often change from seeing them in the BB house but we have to see something in their character for us to change our opinions so that is a judgement of their time in the house...

..tbh, I don't know if Jim has changed from the person he was when he was on Hell's Kitchen, which I thought was fairly unpleasant because he has handled some situations well and others, not so much and I do think he is quite personal in his 'humour' but then they are mostly a bit of a self-centred bunch in general...I'm not convinced that he has changed which is why I will never support him but if he has and his time in the house has helped that, then it's all good, I don't wish him any bad in his life or anything....

I think you're probably right about Jim suppressing his real personality - but then that's the point, we can only really fairly judge what we are shown. We can speculate about other stuff, but the real stuff is what Big Brother shows us. Jim has suppressed/gotten over his past actions and isn't letting them cloud his performance in the Big Brother house. Linda hasn't, which is why she's looking like the nasty one, and that's why Jim's been gaining so much support. I doubt very many of the people voting to save Jim are supportive of domestic abuse, people claiming that people are voting for him because of that or they can't believe people would vote for him just don't seem to want to understand why Jim is getting so many votes. It's not because he's a horrible person and people like him because he's horrible; it's because in that house he's done absolutely nothing but be direct with people, he speaks when he's spoken to and can't be arsed with the dramatics of some of the more hyperactive housemates. Linda has sat on her arse sitting with Sam and Luisa bitching about how much she hates Jim without ever confronting Jim about it or telling anyone why she hates him. The one time Jim brought up why she presumably hated him, she burst into tears and still refused to talk about it. If she doesn't want to talk about it and she wants to sit there and hate Jim for the rest of her life then that's her prerogative, but surely people understand why that makes her look bad? She just wants to stew in bitterness and make other people hate Jim for no apparent reason. I say no apparent reason because she just refuses to open up about it; she's lied about the extent of what her husband admitted to in court so I genuinely think she's never made peace with what he did. It's easier for her to hate Jim than it is to admit to herself that her husband was a thief and deserved his punishment.

..I don't see it like that at all...she wouldn't want what her husband did to be brought to public attention and certainly not in the way that it was..(maybe that was naive, but she wouldn't necessarily think that what her husband did would be relevant to her being in there..)...because it would hurt her to have people think so badly of him and judge him...which is exactly what has been happening...if she didn't want to admit that her husband had stolen, then it wouldn't make sense for her to confront it with Jim but because he was tried and convicted, I'm sure she has long ago acknowledged it all to herself and whatever her feelings were/are toward him and what he did, I think it's a natural reaction and instinct to not want other people thinking he was a bad person....

I'd agree with you if Linda hadn't been constantly pushing Jim to that moment though. If she wanted her past to be kept in the past, she shouldn't have been telling people that she hates Jim without telling anyone why. People were going to question that, especially Jim. If she'd chosen to keep her distance from Jim and just say he'd done something to hurt her in the past, or not say anything at all, I guarantee we'd all be looking at this differently. Yes, it hurts Linda what happened in the past. Yes, she would want to protect her husband's image, especially now that he's dead. But it's naive, in my opinion, to defend her when she has been openly telling people that she hates Jim without mentioning why. Total Streisand effect, it just made people curious to know why she hates him so much.

..I don't defend Linda, I think she's been a nightmare in general in the house and her dislike of Jim..(for whatever the reason..) is obsessive but that for me doesn't give any justification for what he said because no one 'pushed' him into anything, he made that choice and to bring up the incident with her husband and tell Luisa to ask Linda about it was extremely cruel ..I wouldn't do that to my worst enemy and for me, it's quite telling of his character...

...I think they're both equally quite unpleasant people, but maybe display it in different ways...

If he is being himself, from what we've been shown, he's had a "Road to Damascus" experience. He said he wasn't being himself he also said his moods are up and down all the time. He's desperate for money and has a tour coming up this year. So that's my answer.

If this http://www.spiked-online.com/newsite...6#.Ut1CNRDFLIW
this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YG3duy8gzhg
or this http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news...6#.Ut1DDxDFLIV

is anything to go by all I can say is good luck to him. Repugnant man.

Jim was funnier and kinder to the others during the talent show than the rest of them put together

Even that night in a bad mood, while the others partied - he was still funnier than the rest of them put together

BB : "How could this evening be improved for you?"
Jim : "I could die"

Love that comedy. The grumpy old acid wit taking the p*** out of the 'wacky fun times'. Reminds me of Jack Dee, Bill Hicks etc.

Anti-fun is so much funnier than fun.
