This is one thing that really annoys me every series, when people's favourites don't receive praise by the panel or audience on BOTS, or the presenter reads out a pre-written link on the autocue that makes a light-hearted dig at them, or the presenter dares to offer their opinion on the subject, etc etc etc...then everything in question is accused of being biased either for or against certain housemates and so I want to address this
1) 'They're so anti *insert favourite housemate here* on BOTS!!!!!!' Well, they're not. The panellists, much like all of us on here, all have contrasting opinions and on some occasions will agree - and maybe take a dislike towards your favourite, that's...well, life. Do some people on here really think that the guest bookers brief all of the panellists beforehand asking them who their favourites are to ensure that they're not letting a housemate they 'hate' be praised on air? I don't think so. More to the point - why do any of you actually care what the panellists think, or how many of them think that? There's plenty of regular panellists that come on and I enjoy that actually can sometimes dislike a housemate I like and want them out. I don't agree with them but I still enjoy them being on the show, why wouldn't I? ![]() 2) 'Emma/Rylan is so biased' Maybe it's just me but I've actually always enjoyed hearing a presenters opinion of a show they present? Emma's is as much if not more of a Big Brother super fan than all of us on here and I find it interesting to hear what the presenter of a show has to say about what they're working on - and that applies to most shows I watch, I look forward to Dermot's views on Xtra Factor, Ant and Dec's on I'm A Celeb and the parts where Emma (who usually has great opinions btw) or Rylan express their views I enjoy hearing too. There's this really strange notion that they should remain impartial and I just think well okay, when interviewing them yes I can understand that, they're all entitled to a fair platform - but why otherwise? It's this bizarre idea that a presenter airing their views is somehow going to change the opinions of the viewers, well quite frankly anyone that'll let the presenter of a show dictate their opinion is just an idiot really - I mean does anyone like that even exist? Surely not? So why is it an issue? 3) *scripted light-hearted digs that a presenter reads off the autocue* 'WHY ARE U BEING SO BIASED' Those links are written and tailored for pretty much every single housemate across the series, they're contextual and reference something that has just been seen in a VT before or about the show that evening, they are just throwaway jokes that are used to make the script a bit more zany and fun, they mean nothing. More to the point, they are scripted, not written by Emma or Rylan. They read from an autocue. I think some people seem to forget that ---------------------------------------- I was gonna make this thread last night and I've definitely forgotten a few other points that I was going to make but that'll do - basically I think the claims of bias are wildly exaggerated every single year, and quite frankly I couldn't even care less, there's been housemates I've liked that have took a slaughtering on BOTS before but that's the panellists opinions (usually silly ones, but hey ho) - it's not going to change mine so why is it relevant? ![]() But one thing I do love is when BOTS takes the piss out of the people that claim the show is biased and Emma has a go at the people on Twitter who send her hate for daring to express an opinion (who are these people, I mean really) ![]() |
