Default Maintenance loan

I'm not gonna move out for uni, I don't wanna go into that discussion now but after thinking it through deeply, considering a lot things (e.g. in relation to my course) and speaking to a lot of friends & family who are or have been to uni, i've realised it's the right option for me.

But I just wanna know, would it be dumb for me to take out a maintenance loan for my first year considering I'm staying with my parents? I'm moving house in the next few months & we'll be renovating it too so my mum and dad have enough on their plate in terms of keeping up with costs, they would give me money if I asked but I rather not be an extra burden on them

It would help me with paying for travel & costs as well as leave me a decent amount to have fun with, and maybe pay for driving lesson idk. But would taking out a loan just for those reasons be worth it in the long run along? I mean I don't really see it making a difference to the large sum I'll already be owing. But idk what if a maintenance grant is enough for me? #confused

I don't know exactly what I'm entitled to yet as I haven't finished the student finance stuff, so just think of it in general terms
