Default Giant Vending Machine Replaces Village Shop

[ It sells 80 products, including washing powder,
shampoo, shower gel, cereal, and, of course, tea.
Standing in the car park of the local pub,
the Cock Inn, in the Derbyshire village of Clifton,
the machine has already been a great success.
It takes cards and cash and
was designed by electrical engineer
Peter Fox
, who lives just a few miles away in Ashborne.]

Peter was just live on SkyNewsHD
he is a small company
but open to offers , to make them faster,

I think AsdaWalmart should do a Deal with him.

You go online and can check the stock
before you go to buy

Of course Open 24/7
is Great.

Why put the tins at the top, when they fall down they'll dent?

Village shop >

Can't catch up on the local gossip with a vending machine when you're buying your morning paper

you can browse their stock live
http://villagevending.co.uk/live-stock?machine=00002

anyway it's a cool idea but I'd hate to have something like that if I lived in a village, would just feel more isolated and lonely

No, not for me, cool initiative I guess. But more unemployment </3 and it just looks tacky as well, plonked in the middle like that.

Actually I suppose if a village has no shop anyway it's a good idea, we've not had one in our village for about 15 years and it can be a bit annoying having to drive to get a pint of milk or a loaf of bread

I'd hate to live in a village
moving to a suburb soon and that's depressing enough.

Pretty soon we'll all be able to get through our whole lives without interacting with another human being. My local village shop is the hub of everything and they sell a massive range of stuff... from the stuff you'd expect to things like wellington boots. And it's hardly any more expensive than the supermarket. I can't help feeling that if there's enough demand for this vending machine, there would be enough demand for a shop.

Good idea for anywhere that no longer has a shop. Supermarkets have all but done in for local shops, butchers and bakers.

As for employment someone has to stock it, keep an eye on the sell by dates, empty the cash, take it to the bank so it is providing some employment.

Anyone who uses the self service till at a supermarket is effectively putting someone out of a job as well.

Business rates, heating, lighting, insurance, staff it would take a fair amount of footfall to cover all that before you see any profit.
