Big Brother 2014: Emma Willis doesn't want 'fame hungry' housemates

Big Brother host Emma Willis has said she doesn’t want to see ‘fame hungry’ wannabes in the house.


Chatting to us about all things BB, Emma claimed that the more controversial series weren’t always the best.

Instead, Emma wants a return to the “old Big Brother”.

Speaking about the show over the past fourteen years on air, Emma told us: “I think through the middle it got quite controversial, as if it was trying to shock.

“As time went on, contestants became more savvy. They realised that the more outrageous they got the more press coverage they received and the more money the made.

“Hopefully it can go back to its original format.”

Emma confessed that she’s cringed more than a few times at what some of the housemates have got up to in the house but insisted that it was always their own doing!

But this hasnt been confirmed for all we know is rylan could of said it to get us talking about the housemates and didnt they deny that josie would enter because she not the housmate they want

All the cameras should be invisible - I'm sure the technology is there.

Totally agree with Emma, would be great not to have fame hungry HM's, but sadly I don't think we will ever get a series like that again.

The thing is it doesn't matter how normal someone is. i.e works in a shop or something. they still got to be a little bit hungry even if its just a taste of fame to do bb.
i think a few of the over the top fame hungry people are good. just look at the last show it made it. without them it would of been dull.

That would be pointless though... as they still know they're on a TV show. Only difference being they don't know where the camera is, but they will still act out and be camera conscious.

I actually thought one way they could get people the one year is by advertising people to take part in a new "social experiment study", not mention it will be on TV at all, then cast people from an interview-type audition. More likely to grab 'normal' people that way - and it would insert a new housemate dynamic into the show.

I don't mind who they put in, my problem is whoever goes in we don't really get to see the real them like we did when we had live feed, now we just get an edited 45 minutes from 24 hours and the 45 minutes we do see is usually housemates forced in to situations to make entertainment.
