Why is this the first time I am seeing her? For the past 30 days Big Brother have showed us footage of a person who looks like the girl in the video above do nothing but bitch and moan. Chris said she was amazing few days ago. My reaction was "huh"? Then I see this one 3 minute long video and immediately the whole perception of her changes. Why have Big Brother decided to show NONE of this side of Ashleigh for 30 days and only shown her bitching? Why have we been manipulated to believe that Ashleigh is nothing but a bitch, when there is much more to her. There is a massive difference between "a bitch" and "a person who bitches at times".

The same goes for every other housemate too.

No live feed means we only see the negative of everyone because they think an hour of bitching is a great highlights show.

Then there's the housemates we're seeing nothing of because they focus on the select few having a petty war.

Instead though, thanks to deciding to show one aspect of her personality without the context (the others talking every night about sex as Matthew said), they've set themselves up to lose a housemate with a lot of support.

And what's left after that? 3 arsehole men jumping into bed with 3 charmless women.

They really have dug a hole for this show.

I'm so glad to hear that she's topping favourite housemate polls on the net. This fits in with my theory about rent-a-mob when she got booed on Friday. She's the only real person in that house. All the others are cardboard cut-outs.

The more I go over it all in my head, the more pissed off I feel. I have no idea what is more depressing

1. If I had seen the person in the video above for the past 30 days, they would be my favourite housemate by a huge distance (bigger than Finn McCool ).
2. So many people like her for the wrong reasons. If Big Brother abandon their hatchet job a lot of her fans may stop liking her.
3. Big Brother have decided to show us an "Ashleigh" they want us to see rather than the real Ashleigh.
4. Imagine back in BB8 if Big Brother decided to do the same kind of hatchet job on Sam and Amanda and portrayed them as something completely different to what they were. Then imagine they got booed and hated by the public. That makes me feel ill.

That clip also proves that BB could in fact show us all the sides of the housemates if they wanted to. Instead they shows us the power of the BB manipulation production team at work.

It isa fair and right comment that BB does present the housemates anyway they wnat to, I agree that is the problem without at least a reasonable amount of live feed for us to make up our own minds..

One hours highlights are no way enough and as this thread indicates the editing is then vital.
As with Helen, she has had for a good while really bad highlights and now they are showing a softer side that likely was always there but not shown much before.
Probably the same with Ashleigh too to be fair, they showed little of her but she is never off the highlights but in a negative sense now as to the editing.

I don't believe for one moment BB do really fair and representative editing and really it is BB who are near now completely ruining this series for me.

You need to ask yourself this.....If it is shown, it happened, if its not being shown, then maybe it didnt happen. BB Have shown Ashleigh bitching so she does it and if there are insufficient or maybe not enough nice bits of her, then you must ask yourself why. She probably has loads of redeeming qualities but at the moment, bb wants to show us her less redeeming bits, probably because she is better tv as the bitch.

I reserve judgement on bitches till I can see why they are as they are. Maybe the same case scenario should be used on Helens plight as well, or maybe not, depending on who you are and who you support eh. Whats good for the goose and all that crap eh.

The damage has been done. In a multi-way eviction vote, she's buggered.

The producers would be mad to put the girl topping all the popularity polls on the net in such a position, when their show is already struggling with the viewers.

They should do a all up vote to save. But everything they do seems designed to piss half the audience off. So we'll lose one of the few housemates people have actually got behind this year.

The editing team seem to think we're all Jeremy Vile (sorry Kyle) lovers, they've got it sooo wrong.

They've ended up losing Matthew who would've been a great HM, and like it's already been said we're going to end up with a load of twats for the final.

I laughed so hard when Christopher was having his hair cut, mostly at Matthew laughing, and i'm sure there have been many moments like this, it's just they've chosen not to show us

I totally agree with you that the producers are screwing everything up, but sadly, they seem to be running with the mandate that the show needs to pander to the needs of the Jeremy Kyle type of viewer. They cant and wont edit in favour of fairness, its not in their DNA as they are a bunch of idiots with little or no idea how to produce a watchable show.

This years tasks are a non entity and the shows ethos is being eroded which spells doom for any future episodes, but thats the way the show has been going for a few series now. Deception, gameplayers and lies seem to get the juices flowing in the bb boardroom and nobody seems to know how to reverse it so its going to be much of the same from here on in.

There was no way Ashleigh was just sitting around bitching and doing nothing else. BB edit to suit the storyline they want to push, and we are shown footage of the HM's that fit in with that particular storyline. Do we all really not know this by now?

The evidence that there was a a totally different side to Ashleigh was there. Chris saying that she was amazing and if they lived in the same town they would be best mates. Danielle saying what a sweet girl she is; that her support keeps her going in the house and she'd be lost if she went. Matthew also said she was a sweet, lovely girl and Toya was obviously very fond of her.
Viewers only seem to respond to what they see (which is decided by BB) rather than what they hear from the actual people who have gotten to know a person.

It's the same with Helen. She has shown a nicer, softer side to her character and the viewers are warming to her. That softer side does exist because we have seen it with our own eyes but we wouldn't know that if BB hadn't chosen to show it.
But there must be a lot of negative stuff still going on they haven't shown, because the HM's not in the morgue thought the house was better fun without her and and have talked of the tense atmosphere she brings. But once again few pay any real attention to what they hear, only to what they see, which is decided by BB.

In that way, BB controls every HM and their eventual fate. Which is why I prefer to listen very carefully and not just go by the edits when BB starts showing a HM as one - dimensional.

It's sort of the final straw for me though. When a housemate I like is put in such a vulnerable position by them thanks to an edit that is so obviously a hatchet job, you don't even need to have been watching the live feed to recognize it.

It's just really annoying that they start showing clips like this the week after they've done so much damage to her chances. I mean, just why?

I think most of us agree that she will be up with many already thinking she will go.Have the producers now decided to level the playing field.?

Any thoughts on who she will be up against.I hope one of them is Ash and I hope she decides to fight back.

I hoping they decide to do an all up vote to save. I just can't see how she survives a vote to evict. If it was a head-to-head against the likes of Steven, then she could be fine.

I just don't get why they would put themselves in a position to damage the show when it is already struggling.
