Default Opinions on Halloween/Bonfire Night?

Made a thread on Christmas, might as well make one about the other two.

What are your opinions on Halloween and Bonfire Night? Personally, I think both are just silly ways of supermarkets to make money, I hate both, used to love Halloween when I was child but now I can't cope with it, and I've always hated Bonfire Night.

They're wastes of time, and money.

I hate Halloween. Can't deal with all the door knockers, especially the 18 year old alcoholics after a bit of cash by putting a hoody on.

I don't mind Bonfire Night though, I quite like it.

Bonfire night is the worst night of the year. All I hear is my dog barking all night and on the few occasions he stops next doors dog starts

Halloween is alright but I don't answer the door to all the snotty nosed little bastards, my mum does if she's home though

I like Halloween, added bonus is we live right down the end of a really steep end of the line hill so no one ever calls

Our bonfire night is in June, I enjoyed it when I was younger but doesn't effect me too much these days, Gav does get more calls that night though

It is my favourite time of the year. I wish they treated Halloween in the UK the same as they do in the US. It's a bit of a non event here.

Funnily enough, when a 6 year old girl comes trick or treating I'm not looking for her breasts.

I'm glad we don't. They've already spread the commercialism of Christmas, I can do without the over indulgence of Halloween too.

Good point.

So what does the Irish bonfire night celebrate? Their love of fire?
