on the basis it's somebody I know then I'll accept it if I want it, but not if I'm not hungry/thirsty. if it were a stranger then obviously not.

If I'm in my family/in laws houses then I do/eat/drink what I want so yeah I accept stuff if I want them

Not being snooty here but if I go to someone's house for the first time and notice it's not lets say the cleanest then I wouldn't accept a cup of tea or food etc off of them I would just say something like oh no thanks I just ate or whatever.

Depends who's offering and the circumstances, but usually I'd politely refuse.

Not food generally, will take a drink in a pub or something but then will always get them one back, nothing worse than a round dodger

Yeah, that's what I was referring to. Not necessarily a full-on meal or anything but something along the lines of a snack/drink/whatever.
