I was asked would I make a thread on this post I did earlier, so...

If I hadn't watched celeb apprentice I would be convinced Gary was a poor old man being picked on too. But I'm a bit dubious. He was disruptive and a wind up at times and he drove them nuts on it as well. You seen a lot more of him in action. He had bad social skills, he was rude, inconsiderate and not a team player. When they tried to reason with him he would thank them and say he loved them so that hasn't changed either. He didn't have much of a hearing problem either, but that may have gotten worse.

Two shows with around 24 people - they can't all be uncaring and heartless to whatever degree, it doesn't compute. So it's common sense to assume the main problem stems from Gary himself. I don't think he's fake, I think that is just him. I fully believe what the HM's are saying and I think the editing is misleading. 40 minutes of live feed can't possibly give a true picture. I was hoping that he would drive them all mad, and he is - only we are not really seeing why so we are missing out, I think.
He certainly causes controversy wherever he goes, which makes him a great HM!
What are your thoughts?

He certainly is a great housemate but I'm not buying the editing - I bet he is a nightmare to live with and has an ego the size of a planet!!!

I'm going to have to check out apprentice US now as it really doesn't surpise me that he can be a pain in the butt.

I know and to be honest it's winding me up a bit as I'm pretty sure he is anything but a victim in reality. I admire him for his acting and love his films but as a housemate I would hate to be in there with him as he would drive me round the bend I think.

Gary has never played the victim card though, the only consideration he asked was not to stay through the night outside. Everything anyone says to him, he thanks them, does anyone else do that?

I love him in the house and as these reality shows are games, the best player should win. I hope he does. I have seen a lot of his vts on line and am very impressed with them.

I dont think many have said Gary would be easy to live with either.
I think it is more to do with the sheer nastiness in the way some have spoken to him & about him tbh.

Can they? gary is a guy that was accused of beating his wife the charges were dropped,then he hit an airline steward and fought with co hosts is this really a man that sweet and gentile? i think not!

Oh and then there was the celebrity rehab thing where he had to be removed because he got pyschical,yes what a lovely man! NOT.

So yes very clever editing on big brothers behalf and if it is and its in garys favour when hes being nasty i will never ever ever watch it again.

The biased editing and treating certain HM's unfairly on the summer BB means I won't be watching IT again, ever. This CBB is looking like the same thing all over again....I hope not though. We'll see...

I think Gary probably isn't the easiest to live with and he does have a big ego and may come across rude at times but that also doesn't mean he is the problem tbh.

It's like saying the kid that gets picked on at school is the problem IMO.

Gary was kinda made the scapegoat on celeb apprentice too, Meatloaf went completely mental at him for 'stealing' his paintbrush and art supplies, I mean roaring at him that he would **** him up etc (I'm a big fan of Meatloaf too) and after everything calmed down guess what happened? one of the other people found Meatloafs bag with all of his supplies and stuff in there and Gary had been innocent all along.

Again not saying Gary does no wrong, far from it but he is the easy nomination, the scapegoat IMHO, a few of the housemates that I feel have jumped on the bandwagon regarding Gary is Dee and George, neither had any problems with him until their buddies did.

But anyway even saying all that, I don't even care if Gary is 'the problem' in the house, he is the one that's keeping me watching, keeping me entertained and interested and that's why I support him.

Oh I agree because its the same for me. What I don't agree with is the way Gary is seen as a poor helpless old man who is being victimized and the HM's are heartless uncaring idiots. It's not as cut and dried as that.
Gary isn't being shown as doing anything really wrong in the edits, so it is making the HM's look worse than they actually are and as if they are just making stuff up for no reason other than to get at him. On celeb apprentice, we seen him in action working on campaigns etc, we SEEN why people got at him; he WAS a nightmare, but we could make our own minds up as to whether we liked him or not (and I did like him because he was a nightmare!)
But in CBB there is no balance, no way to judge fairly. I firmly believe the editing is skewed to make people emotionally invested, which is the oldest trick in the book.
I WANT to see bad Gary I was looking forward to it, and I feel cheated.

It was 2 years ago so I can't remember specifics, but he was disruptive, he wanted things done his way, if the team decided on something he would do something different and that drove them nuts, he wasn't a team player etc. He was rude and inconsiderate too.

Ah right. Yes i can imagine he is hard work and will test some people's patience but he does seem to a team player in BB, he joins in all the tasks and does what is asked of him. I think the only thing he has refused to do is sleep outside during the night.
Like you say he is a great HM even if he does drive them nuts!
